True but if that aimed at me, you need to go back to the drawing board on that one. I don't think I've even bought a cinder block in my life.

This is just a guess but since 13b-rew can make 500 pretty reliably. Id say 750 on the low end from a 20b.
So what does your ls1 put out? I bet power outweighs the little difference in Weight. |
750 hp?! I think youre being a bit ambitious there. Maybe a few max effort dyno queens have made that. Real cars with tractable hp dont make that number. Thats like saying there are numerous 1200+ hp turbo junkyard 5.3s running around but those cars arent racing on that boost level. Im speaking objectively here when i say i have owned two stock motor cars with nitrous. First with a Sneaky pete 75 shot that made 409 hp and went 11.60s through an auto with a mild stall. The other was a wet 125 shot camaro with 200k miles that would nail down consistent 11.10s. That car made just shy of 540 hp on spray and pump gas. Those are real world numbers. My RX8 with its stock internal motor and longtubes/intake is 325-350 hp through the 6 spd and im being conservative. With a 125 shot 500 hp isnt out of range. Ive been looking at 20bs and all i can find are 600ish hp drift builds or dyno queens. Plus your 20b makes 0.000 hp right now.

I did mean engine hp not rw, but 400 rwhp is pretty easy from what i hear on a 13b rew. So add 50 pct more displacement and you'll get roughly 50pct more power. Maybe firecan can weigh in with what he's putting out. Or dan if he's that intreated.

Deep down you know that an LS swapped RX8 vs. a turbo renesis RX-8, with everything else being the same and same driver, the LS swap will win everywhere. Roll races, drag strip, and road course. After adding the weight of all the turbo equipment you are probably within 50lbs of an LS swap which is the difference between your gas tank being full or near empty...
I was talking about the LSx powered Holden Commodores we have in this part of the world .... yes my puny renesis turbo can take them (the stock ones anyway). |
We have an 1000+hp 3 rotor FB at the shop. Dry sump T56 8.8 rear end....Stupid fast.....that's on pump gas.

The best part of this thread is that we get to see how people behave. I think the mods might have a secret agenda... :pfanndina |
LOL.....we don't have an Agenda....not that anyone told me anyway ;)
Otherwise I would have banned all these V8 huggers months ago :smoker: |
The only "agenda" is to let people hassle each other here without derailing threads elsewhere or feeling like we trying to censor stuff. Aside from a few times where people have stepped over the line and we have had to reinforce the line, everything here has been in line with what we expected, and everyone has been treated equally in regards to applying the rules. The staff is enjoying getting it on it too of course. It's not like we left our passions or opinions at the door. :) |

Back in the "good ol' days" my nitrous-assisted RX-8 did the same thing with the 2004 GTO, too. The 2005-later were a little tougher but the RX-8 runs circles around them on the track. LOL
GTOs are pigs. Its take alot of work to make them fast. Not even worth it. Itd be easier to make the Kittyhawk turn harder. |

I have trouble believe the road course part. I am assuming you mean power is the only difference here. If the two are moderately near each other in power, I think the area under the curve combined with the course would determine the victor. For example, in a valley course with much uphill, downhill, straights and curves, you might find the turbo renny performs better. Dynamics are a hurdle, which is why most people try to stay with stock geometry, because there is proven, costly engineering provided far beyond what one man in a garage can hope to accomplish. Hell, even professionals often misjudge handling capabilities.

V8 swapped imports get a bad rap on track because it just seems like the type of person that does them always sucks at driving for some reason, the same way most Corvette drivers are slow as balls but put one of those in the right hands and it's a total weapon. |
Arca I'm beginning to like you already. preach it brotha man

It's built for way more than 600, but at a very safe 14psi it'll be 500+ without breaking a sweat, tho I'm sure I'll be sweating trying to keep it on the road. 20b"s EASILY can make 750-1000!! Like I said ls, ur clueless, too busy focussing on the little picture- beating 1.3lt engines lol. |
750 isn't super crazy for a turbo 20b. Definitely achievable if the motor is built to take it. Hell, I'm going to try to touch 600+whp with the 13b-REW and probably still make 500ft-lbs of torque.

I don't even think RX8s are even taken seriously. I felt like Rudy trying to get a race. I know what hp you think they can easily make but this is the real world. As everyone has been saying to me. Let's see it. On another note, if your car makes 750 hp, it will get rolled by a mail truck. With my 300ish hp it just blows the tires right off it. Maybe it's delivery or the super low gearing-rpm relation. |

Maybe you should get some tires :lol2: |

Pretty much anything with power would smoke the tires if they were using the shitty baby tires that you have. |

I dont care what you nickname your boyfriend. You ever been to TX2K?
|
Are you gonna be the first person to say anything south of 1000hp is enough to play there?
|
You dont have to have a 1k hp car. I went last year in a sprayed 5.3 C10. You.just cant mess with the UGR or Boostlogic guys. Come to think of it. Im not sure i saw more than a couple roturds.

Dowelled ported (so called) unbreakable seals etc. I'm not setting out to run quarter miles with as much power as poss. Just a RELIABLE daily that I can hit the drift track with on weekends. It's built for more but with only 14psi I won't be ringing its neck = reliable motor. Blew up too many Rene's. |
