The only active and probably the best LS swap to date is not even done and the guy is north of $25k. That is what this type of things costs when done right.

The only time a swap has a decent ROI is when you are loaded with nothing better to do or you are a fabricator by trade.

That would put you right about the "Maybe I can cut a corner" point on my chart.

Again though, what makes you think that the swap is easier and cheaper than the parts cost of a proven swap with everything available off the shelf, a full instruction manual, and no chassis complications to solve or anything custom to have to create?

Seriously. Show me the logic of how you reach that conclusion.

Yeah i assume anyone making these comments about swaps has no idea about how to do them. I swap lsx motors into cars/trucks all the time. I make good mo ey with S10 and old chevy truck swaps. My RX8 is not a cut corner swap and im.using very high quality parts within a very reasonable bjdget. I wont go over the numbers but im very sure my completed swap will be less than ehat some of you guys paid for yohr RX8 to begin with. Im an engineering student and swaps are my hobby. I do this often and cant take any comments seriously from people who have never completed one.

And also what the hell are yall talking about only one finished swap (Touge Factory), and the only other one close is Stubbs LS3 swap. Hinson has one completed with AC, that shop in north texas completed a red one with an LS2 and Stephen Villavaso of LS1RX8.com completed his. These are all daily driven completed LSX swaps. Hinsons car is fully optioned with AC.

Again, I point you back to FlyinMiata. They do 10+ a year, and their parts list is $17,000 + engine + harness + car. It's very hard to assume that the cost is high because they don't know how to do it.

Show me where your swap is cheaper and easier than that?

HUGE difference to an RX-8 there. Using this as a basis of your argument is absurd.

And we can't take any comments seriously from someone who just says they can do it cheap and easy. You may prove yourself to be a god among men, but history of people claiming the same thing on this forum says: "NOT A CHANCE!"

I guess that depends on your definition of finished. To me finished is everything working as it should, even the Touge Factory car did not accomplish that and neither did the one done in Dallas. Stubbs is the one that put the LS3 in the auto RX-8 in Louisiana? If so that car is a cluster ****.

At least we have a baseline understanging of what LSXREX believes to be "Completed".

I have that spot noted on my chart too.

Proof is in the pudding.

These swap argument/theory threads are all over the forum, you know what isn't all over the forum? 100% completed, daily driver swap threads!

You could have lots of Money and no Time or Skill, and still get a completed swap. Cash buys someone else's Time and Skill.

You can have Skill and Time, but if you are broke you won't get a swap done

You can have Money and Time, but since you don't have the Skill to do it yourself, you will just be paying someone else to do it, so you aren't even using your Time

You can have Money and Skill, but if you don't have the time, you won't get the swap done, unless you pay someone else and then your Skill doesn't matter

and if we are talking street cars, a REW swapped RX-8 won't be much faster than a properly setup turbo Renny.
There's more than you think, I already know about 4 or 5 around here that have been running for years. Sure they're not daily drivers but they get driven a decent amount. Sometimes these types of cars are the type where you have to actually get off of the internet and meet people to see.

That second statement is just stupid I'm not even going to type a response for that.

Yeah yeah, all the 600HP+ REW's are in AZ and none of the owners get on the internet,

You can think the second statement is stupid but the proof is in the pudding, if and when your car is running then you can talk actual numbers. Until then all you have is big expectations and no experience with a turbo renny.
