Why not just make a new double thick aluminum flywheel with a steel toothed ring on the outside? It would be more expensive, but it would weigh less and cut your legs off less violently.

This build has actually become more clownshoes retarded than the Isuzu swap. Congratulations.

A 206 bhp 1JZ with two giant flywheels in a hacked up RX-8 getting bribed past inspection is goddamn hilarious.

Fortunately, most of us don't live in Canada.

Sorry Gravey. Don't take your R3 out. Better send it down to me to keep safe from him.

^Yeah, don't forget to push the mileage rollback-speed regulator button, or else you might go too fast, and put too many miles on it.

".... These sure do ride nice! This doesn't even feel like 60mph...."

"hey so i am running the automatic fly wheel with a custom made 15mm hubcentric 8 bolt spacer then the 1jzgte manual flywheel fastened with NEW 10.9 grade steel hex cap bolts sealed with blue loctite 243 and torqued to 65ftlbs"
I have seen that method used successfully many times, my concern is the 1jzgte flywheel is not centralised on the crankshaft, you are relying on the bolts to maintain its position. You need a hub/adapter from crankshaft to at least level with the clutch side of the flywheel mounting surface.I did mention this in a much earlier post.

Wow!!!!! What some people will do to "go fast" just blows my mind. Anything other than a roatary in a RX of any nature is just an abortion. RX = rotary not pistons. Silly people.

well thats the whole point to get it on the road for as cheap as possible for spring and then as parts break find out why they broke machine new parts stronger slightly modify the design and then get it reliable lol enginer

Or you could do it right the first time and not have to replace parts. Just saying. Do it right the first time so you do not have to redo it later.

If you can't afford to do it right the first time, when can you afford to do it over?

Those 'fixes' count for the total swap cost by the way... It won't be a cheap swap, which is what we have been saying all along.

I am not the jackass throwing **** together just to make it work either. Who is the *** clown now?

I am a purist at heart. I know the rotary has it weakness but I work with them to make it strong.
