Engine was already test fitted. Everything looked good. The exhaust and intake manifolds are going to be a project.
I know you don't require any external validation but I wanted to cheer you on. I've read through this entire thread and I'm most impressed with all you have done. I know it's way past this point but did you consider the twin turbo 3.0 that was in the later model mitsubishi 3000 gt? Did it have an iron block? Seemed that it might have been a good option, although I'm not sure how plentiful or cheap they are now. I was thinking about this if my new, reman 1.3 gives up someday. ...hopefully 10 years from now! Any way nice job. I'll be trying to hire your services if I ever do attempt a crazy engine swap!

I did consider it and yes its an iron block. An RX8 with a 3000GT engine is just a 3000GT with a blown front diff. Not sure what the issue was with the trans. I think one of Mitsubishi's pickups used the 3.0L and that left me limited transmission options. The trans options really was the factor that lead me towards using the Isuzu v6 and the more I researched that engine the more I liked it and found countless other benefits about it.
the stock Rx8 radiator and cooling fans should be totally adequate for your engine, the only bug, is the dual hose setup.
i did the radiator in my 8 last summer, and i couldn't help but notice that the radiator could actually be a lot bigger...
I may get an aftermarket aluminum oe replacement and mod the upper tank for my lines. I've been looking for something larger and an Eclipse one is close. I made a cardboard mock-up of it and it hits the seams on the frame rails. Close but no cigar.
Yeah having fitted several slightly larger aftermarket radiators in RX-8's I don't see how one could fit that was a lot bigger. As it is mine almost touches the undertray.
Months ago I was at the scrap yard and saw a garbage can full of some sort of mount. Maybe for a TV or medical aperatus. I'm sure you can guess where this is going.
Hopefully I can explain this well enough to understand... The plenum essentially looks like a skinky shoe box that sits between the heads, in the middle of the engine, with short 90s to the intake ports. At the rear bottom side of the plenum is a moon-shaped opening that faces the valley. At the front of the plenum is a moon-shaped opening that faces forward. I'm going to take a long 3" tube, with a 90 on it, and slit it down the middle all the way thru the bend. The small half gets welded to the bottom of the plenum. This lets 1/2 the volume of air in at the front of the plenum, and the other half gets directed to the rear. This may help keep the plenum pressure equalized at all the runners. Or maybe it wont. Either way, it'll be functional and look neat.

I know it's not too bad if the ally is big enough with respect to the stainless, but it looks like a fair few bolts!

Watercrafts don't seem to have any issues with stainless into aluminum.

I can't wait to see how the intake manifold turns out. I had no idea those were aluminum elbows.
I think your split air flow design is unique but has good reasoning behind it.
Watercrafts don't seem to have any issues with stainless into aluminum.
The only reason I ask is precisely because I spent last week welding up and retapping a load of aluminium plates that someone had decided to bolt together with 304 stainless bolts rather than the spec 10.9's, the aluminium had corroded around them all over the years and pitted to dust.
