how much more room is needed to clear the front pulley.
would using the ls4 engine be an option?

The Ls4 is made for transverse vehicles, so the rear of the block has a different bolt pattern, yes ,it's 3mm shorter at the front pulley.
OD, I contemplated doing an Ls swap but due to strict emission laws here, I went for the LLT 3.6 V6 , it has 304 hp at the crank and 275 lbs torque, it meets Euro 4 emissions.

correct--it does. But that is not something that cant be fixed with different parts.
I obviously have not taken any measurements, but thought someone else may have? If the ls4 can be fitted and clear the eps--that would be a big plus.

The v6 swap you did sounds interesting--you should post a build thread here.

the MX5 and RX8 platforms share some similarities, but they are not the same platform

I'm not sure where you got that idea.

Team--what do you think about the possibility of the ls4 clearing the steering?

For the Miatas, V8Roadsters are making upper and lower control arms; if they can get the steering geometry correct for after market control arms, a pair of brackets to relocate the stock RX-8 steering rack down and or forward would not be too difficult...

Yes, plenty of people are running this swap, the kit only costs $250.00 too. Just go to www.imadipshitlazyassnoob.com to inquire about it.

The last I heard from my buddy was that V8 Roadsters was extremely busy over the winter with a lot of MX5 swaps so it's slowed their development.

Or I can just not do a thread, doesn't really make a difference to me, I really just hate when someone post something and it bothers others just so much, it makes me laugh.... But I'm sure I will make a halfway decent thread. For those that are interested take a peek if not, don't open the thread at all..... I did get the headers Hinson makes by the way.

I expect some hassle, but that's part of doing a swap, with time, patience, and some money for parts it'll come together.....
