I am sure I would get into trouble if I started talking about price and details without going through the proper channels. I expect be finished with the design and testing of the hardware in june. I am hoping to produce them from aluminum but we will see. I am done with my homework now so I am gonna go take some pictures.

Have you made any progress on the rack?

Here is the PPF bolted to the trans via my bracket, the PPF in unmodded that bead is on the bracket.

The trigger wheel in the front of the 13b, is that the only sensor it uses for RPM? If so that should work if you keep the stock ECU and ABS connected.
Have you looked into a signal converter for the RPM?

ACTUALLY if it uses the front signal for RPM pickup to the PCM, I would think the tach would work fine? Insight? Run the stock coolant temp and front pickup and the gauges will probably work fine, as well as the abs and steering - Just pull the bulb for the CEL or rewire the bulb in the cluster for the CEL to be connected to the LS1 ECU

The cluster, ecu and all sensors were sold with the renesis, the rule book I am following does not allow ABS.
the EPS computer gets its data from the stock ecu only. I dont know anything about that digital signal. I am sure someone with the skills could build an inexpensive little black box that would replicate a synthetic signal to trick the eps computer into working just fine.
I have read some impressive threads on this board and I know there are people here with the skills to do it. it would be useful with any swap or situation where the stock ecu is gone and you need the EPS to work.

not at this time. I cant build the signal producing circuit box because I dont know how.
my plan to use polarity reversing relays would cause erratic steering assist. I am not going to run the renesis pcm and sensors because I dont have them.
For now I will use different mazda rack, FC, FD, or miata.
It sucks but eventually i hope someone will be able to get the EPS computer to work, and then I will revert back to eps.
edit: I am sitting in my Anthropology class pretending to take primate history notes on my computer, in reality I am monkeying around on car sites. lol

Someone else that did one used a Camaro rack... I bought a Camaro rack for mine but I might try and run the EPS by using the front trigger and stock pcm - We shall see though.

Yup, that little magnetic sensor and the black trigger disk is what the stock ecu uses for the rpm signal for the tachometer, and that same signal goes to the eps system for the steering. I believe that if you put these 2 things on the steering will work just fine, not too sure if the rpms will coincide with the engine though. There are some signal converters that you could use for the tach gauge. Make sure you connect all the stock grounds from that particular loom.

still no updates, nothing has happened for a couple months because I am out of money. I will be able to get it on the road in this month or at least I hope to.
not much left to do really, brake bias valve, clutch master and custom line, mechanical gas pedal. NC MX5 steering rack (hydrolic not EPS), and a custom driveshaft. That is about all thats left to get this thing on the road. a bunch of easy things but the $ all adds up. also exhaust will need to be done.
On another note, I made the Dean's List at Boise State's College of Engineering! Being a broke-*** college student does have it's bright moments lol
