LS2 Build

Man if the costs hold true from what you posted earlier BH, builds like this run into 15K+ in a hurry.
It'll take me a couple of years to get the right roller and that much money together. Don't go out of business

Just an update for everyone. We made it to our show with everything set in. Stirred up alot of people who liked the swap and alot of people who were die hard rotory. Needless to say it was fun and enjoyed talking to people about it.
Now back to the business. I ordered a fbody pan today cuz our corvette pan won't work. Ill post up picks about why it won't work. Ill get the pan in tomorrow and get everything permanently mounted and start moving on to the next steps of the build stay tuned and thank you guys for the support as we work thru all this.

Did you cut or modify the center section of the crossmember? If not, are you able to get to all the spark plugs with the motor mounted and manifolds on?

the only reason why I had to change pans is because it hit one bolt one the factory steering rack. There isno cutting of the factory sub frame.
Had a feeling the vette pan wouldnt work. I was thinking you modded it to make it work. Did you have issues with it hitting the subframe?</p>

I've built (and had built) a number of cars over the years and my next "project" was going to be a Superformance "Cobra" until I bought my boy a 2009 R3 for his 16th last year. Now after owning a succession of LSX powered cars I've been in love with that engine. I'm now also in love with the RX8 chassis. A marriage made in heaven? Maybe. The opportunity for a light weight, high horsepower monument to wretched excess? Most definitely!
I'll stay tuned here. Weighing possibilities.

Indeed. But as they say, living well is the best revenge. I've been following this thread with great interest but have declined to get involved with the circle jerk flaming the guy or "defending" him on the other side of the coin (he didn't need anyone fighting his fights obviously).

yea, I'd be curious to know the total bill for that Miata. And how long it took from the day the car arrived at the shop to the day the owner drove it home.

Well the re-wiring when this wiring doesn't work out, possible move to a stand alone unit, new upgraded axles, larger tires and wheels, purchase of gauges and gauge assembly plus wiring (Assuming all the stock sensors don't read, again because of wiring issues).
Then you have the rebuilding of the engine after a short amount of time, because regardless of the condition they say it was in you never really know.
Once all that is complete you should be good to go.
I'm sure there are some little things I left out, lots of unknowns with a project like this.
I've seen a few people try and fail right around where you are at with this build. Getting the engine in is the easy part.
