Have been lurking following this thread for quite a while. Nothing constructive to add, so I kept my mouth shut.
Directed to BH-Factory: The Miata you were working on at the beginning of this build took about 2 months. The 8 took roughly 12 months from when you first discussed tearing engine bay down. With lessons learned, could you offer a rough estimate of time for future swaps?
I can understand the need to keep clients happy and information confidential, and it's only Blackbriar2189's business what the final cost was for his particular build. Towards the beginning of the thread though, you quoted a rough estimate on swaps:
With what you've learned through this exercise, would the same hold true for this platform?
Blackbriar2189: I can understand the love for the new power and having your 8 again, however the 8 has always been praised as a well handling car. I see the weight stayed roughly the same, but does it feel like it grips the corners as well as it did previously? Also would be curious what your MPG might be like.

Mpg are about the same as they used to be. But that's also cuz too much fun accelerating lol. If I tried I bet I could get 20 mpg city. Handling is fine we put powertrix coilovers... I need a stickier tire compound or a wider contact patch cuz there's just so much torque.

The length of time it took to complete the swap was out of my hands for 6 months of the build. There were parts from hinson that didn't match up or that were built wrong. Hinson told me one time and I quote "so I think we had the blue print backwards for the mount. We will re make this and send it out." It was just endless problems with them and tones of frustration. The prices you quoted me on are just some basic things needed for any swap and a basic price for heads and cam.

Without abs if you apply too much pressure on the breaks you will loose traction. A skidding car needs more space to stop.
Besides abs isn't just useful in snow conditions, also in sandy, wet, gravel.

This was one of my hardest v8 swaps we have done to date. I wont post up a bill that the client paid to keep it confidential for the customers sake. Plus there are so many different options and features that can add or take away from the price of the swap. the best thing we do is have a meeting (conference call or sit down) to discuss the direction of the car and what the goals hp wise are. our swaps are tailored to the clients to make sure they get exactly what they want and not a cookie cutter job.

sometimes it takes an abs car longer to stop then it would a standard braking car. abs is cool but 90% of us dont ever use it.
