LSX/T56 Swap Build Thread..Pics inside

The most common turbo kit is the Greddy and I can tell with 95% confidence that the kit complete with BOV, couplers, clamps, etc. etc. is no more that 75lbs. I had everything shipped to me in one box.

I'm just saying that other kits use bigger turbos, bigger FMICs, bigger piping, bigger downpipes. Bigger, in this instance, definitely weighs more.

The bad part is that if one of us doesn't do a swap we're stuck using the propaganda that companies put out there. And of course they're going to make their product shine. "Virtually no weight gain" "Excellent balance" "Handling just like stock"

If someone is doing a lsx swap they know the weight difference just like anyone who swapped a 3rotor it adds weight
How much weight does a 3 rotor add? Does the rack stay in the oem position?
Is the porsche gt2 50/50? Does it handle well?

The FC's and FD's I have seen ( multiple ones) have significant suspension/chassis handling upgrades if they go on a road track. Brakes also.
Chassis bracing, differental bracing, high end coil overs, bushings replaced, roll bars upgraded, etc etc. BBK usually go on especially for the front.
Sometimes even fender flares are added in order to get a big enough tire on the rear.
Then we have a oem FD that is laying down 380-400rwhp that is also lighter and he will catch people in the corners/ during braking. He doesnt have the Torque off the corners or the long straightaway speeds that the v/8's have and in the end the v/8's usually win.
Just a fact of life.

Odd that you claim the V8 fds are heavier than OEM 13b cars. Everything I've ever read (magazines and personal experiences on forums) says otherwise. The turbocharged 13b is heavier than the LSx setups.

that particular FD is a track only version. The v/8's are too. In reading my post back--i realize I wasnt clear about that.
In most cases of street driven only cars that I have seen, the weights are similar.

When I was at wakefield last year their was a race spec FD with an ls2 in it, it put down 1:02 or there abouts, this guy was no amateur at the track either. I have seen a twin turbo FD also race spec put down 0.59. The straight is average in length but its a very technical track with lots of corners.
Putting a v8 defeats in the purpose of what mazda try so hard produce a well balances sports car.

People are still trying to compare apples to oranges. comparing v8 rx7's to rotary powered 7's does not mean the same comparisons can apply to the rx8.
Both cars are two completely different beasts. Even if you wanted a similar comparison for the RX8, i dont think a turbo renesis could even compete against another 8 stuffed with even the L33 from the other thread... except for the few that have hit 500 hp, THE FEW... it's not the horsepower that hurts us on the track, it's the torque
ppl complain about traction in v8 rx7's. RX8 weighs 300 lbs more, before any motor swap
