How the "poor reliablity" causes on the 2004-2006 RX8 posted on sources such as MSN Autos have been handled under Mazda recalls.
Issues of engine failue due to owners not running engine into upper RPM range, quick start/shut-offs, and/or overboosting.
latest recall on the RX8 Clutch Switch was issued in OCT 2010, and many current RX8s for sale right now have not had the service done.
I do remember in 2004 the RX7 forums laughing it up at RX8 owners for wrecking RX8's thinking they could handle like RX7s, and further when RX8 owners 'compained' that their engine blew at 30-60K miles, and they never took it above 3K on the tach.
I think I've done a fair amount, of "catching" up before I ever posted. And NO this isn't all I have read about the RX8. So if you actually have any real infomation / corrections to contribute, do so (PM or post). If not you might as well be talking out of your @ss. I have no problems saying I'm wrong providing correct information is given, which I have yet to see.

like how the Renisis needs to be completely re-ported to handle anything over 8lbs of boost (refrence Pettit Racing)

1. Wasn't responding to you. If anything we're in agreement, so you're remark is unnecessary. I was backing my thoughts with FACTS. I addressed flaws with the remark replied to that was not Posted for whatever the reason. I've owned a rotary before, about to get my second, AND been researching/following Rotary engines for the last 12 years.
Frankly I'm no more a newb than you're an Elitest @ss.

Stop believing mass media assumption on our 8s. I have an '04 with over 70k. No problems.
I love how some rx7 owners think they are superior. Have them remove there turbo and we will see whos faster.

I've given that some thought, too, as I'm a bit of a Ford fan, but I'm not sure the new Ford 5.0 would fit under the hood. Being a DOHC design, it must be significantly taller than the LS engines, right?

We had a modded TT FD try and follow during the Texas8, he would have been okay if he would have spent the money on suspension parts instead of big boost. He did pwn us all on the long straights though. But not this year he won't (at least me anyway)

uhg Outinnowhere's car is a poor example of a V8 swap. He always goes on about "top of the line parts, 500hp!" , but the parts were budget and anytime you saw pictures of the work it was a complete mess. He even put the engine together wrong on the first try. He basically turned a nice Rx8 into an 80s beater camaro.
A nice clean LSx swap would be a completely different animal
