Also, I would be willing to be money a well done swap will annihilate a stock Renesis RX-8 on a road course with plenty of turns, not just a straight line.

The suspension doesn't know it has a different motor in it. As long as the weight is the same and in the same place, the car will behave exactly the same way.
I think seven years and multiple motors is a fair sign of patience.

Awesome swap, kudos. Honestly I could do without the flying M on the valve cover, let the engine be what it is, let the car speak for itself, I bet you wouldn't put a Nissan burger emblem on the bumpers

Ignorant statement my foot. You will ruin the intricate balance that this car has. A SR20DET does NOT have the same weight or size as the Wankel (~500lbs for the SR20DET and the 250lbs for the Wankel, a MASSIVE 250lbs difference), neither will it be positioned behind the front suspension. So it WILL throw the handling off unless you make significant modifications to the chassis and cut the firewall in the process.
You better hit the books..
