Uh yeah whatever. I have enough hands on experience with "engine-swapped" RX8s to know what I'm talking about. I'm not going to waste further time educating someone who should probably know better.

And I suppose you think I'm a "Toyota fanboy" dissing your mighty F20C swap (since I have a Toyota logo in my avatar)? If you had bothered reading into my avatar, which is clearly not the case -- you'd understand it better.

have you singlehandedly tuned more rx8's than anyone else .........NO
have you created a turbo upgrade for the greddy..........................NO
do you work in conjunction with a great group of guys to offer great quality parts to our community .....................NO
and most importantly do you have hot ***** on your avitar........................HELL NO
point is your not mazda maniac so yeah u basically picked the wrong guy to have a technical discussion with

Firstly I'm not dumb and I never said 50:50 dont matter. Just tired of fanbois throwing the 50:50 card around, imo the SR20's power is enough to make up for the lack of the 50:50, its not like its so much heavier that weight distributon cant be adjusted to compensate.
#61
How does that work? That's like ice cream "makes up" for **** rape.
Explain that while you are at it. Many of us have spent hundreds of hours and many more dollars to solve that issue with completely STOCK RX-8s.
Had we realized that it was just an "adjustment" we wouldn't have bothered.

Most have heard about it but few know what it really means. Most people also think you can adjust front to rear balance by adjusting the suspension height, but you can't. Which is why starting at or near 50/50 balance is Important. However 50/50 doesn't automatically make a car handle good or bad.

My point was that there seems to be comments that weight distribution is set on a car and cannot be altered. My point is simply that there are tools available to handle with weight additions or changes so arguing that a roughly 200 lb heavier motor in the front will destroy handling assumes there isn't any way to adjust for it.

thankyou all for liking my car ... i think this thread is going in the wrong direction, its not about rotary vs piston war.... this car is fun to drive and very reliable :never had a single issue after completing the swap, it is faster and torquier than a rotary and slightly tail happy which can be a good or bad thing depending on the person..... it handles like a charm but i will give slight edge to a rotary in handling: as it is what the car is designed for ...

Hi doc.tarzan, sweet swap there, looks tidy. Wondering if you can help me out at all. Ive pretty much finished my sr20, all running etc but i cant get the oil press gauge to work, the alternator light to go out and not sure about the tacho. Do you have any info on how these work? Ive kept the stock rx ecu and i think the rest is all working ok. Cheers. Rich

a work shop did this swap for me , its not a DIY .... about steering rack: the whole steering column etc has to be changed , the electronic steering of rx8 would not work with a swapped engine.a hydrolic power steering is used in it .... hope you get what i am saying.
