^^I ran on slicks in back for a couple months. Then bought new tires and had them installed the day before a nice good dump.

I'm leaning toward the PS2s this time. The Nexens are great in the rain, but I'm pretty sure I could push a bit further in the dry with a more solid contact patch and stiffer sidewalls.

My friend Kevin got those on his RX-8 a few months back and doesn't like them much. He said when it gets to 50 degrees or below the traction and handling start going. He also said something about it feeling like he had "square wheels" the first few miles after being parked. I don't really know what he was talking about or meant exactly, but I just know he wished he would have gotten something else and doesn't intend to buy this tire next time.

Since I don't do tire swapping for winter and summer I was leaning toward going with the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position. They have very high ratings for everything, especially wet traction, plus also have pretty decent ratings for light snow and ice, not that we have a lot of it here in Portland, but it does seem more frequent in the couple years.

Otherwise I had been leaning toward the RE050A Pole Position. It rates very close to the AS ones, but not quite as well with the wet traction and hydroplaning (which is quite important here in the NW), plus is lacking in the snow and ice category. I also like that the AS rates higher for noise and has longer treadwear. There's not a significant difference in price when I got quoted at my dealership (right around $60 total), with the AS being a little bit cheaper.

So, I'd say with about 90% certainty I am going with the AS, unless some other tire comes out rating a lot higher in all categories and doesn't cost more than $225 per tire.

I replaced my OEM tires with BF Goodrich g-force super sport A/S' three months ago. So far I love them! They are so much superior over OEMs. They're quieter, they grip the road like I have super glue on my tires especially in the rain. No hydroplane-ing even at highspeed in the rain. It's pretty good in dry condition also. I went to Discount Tire and got 245/18 for about 150 each. And it's worth every penny of it, IMO.

On the side note........... I took my car in for trasmission and diff fluid change recently cuz I was so lazy to do it on my own....lol I didn't have all the necessary tools at my house also. So I went to Doug's Mazda and got them changed for 90 bucks..... I was so suprised. I thought it would cost me atleast like 170 something.....or 200.
You guys think it's cheap? They replaced all the fluid and used new plugs and washers.....one thing I noticed though ...is they used the same 80/90 castrol for both transmission and diff........they said that's what Mazda recommand to use........I thought Trans fluid and diff fluid were different types...lol

Well....I noticed the big diffference in shifting....mann...it got so smooth and the lil static noise the trans made is gone now....I don't hear anything anymore....it probably comes back later on...but right now...I lovvveee shifting gear...haha
