Alpha Lapping Day (6-26-2009) Pics!

New lapping day gets a new thread I didn't drive, Mike did. Chris took pictures from out on the course and I honestly can't wait to see them since his camera is much nicer than mine! Mine are also somewhat out of order due to my camera being retarded.

All of my pictures are here: http://pics.dpsubs.org/Alpha_Lapping_Day_6-26-2009/

Nice meeting you guys today. Unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures. I just got my camera and it's one of those half way between SLR and point and shoot things. It's got two million modes and I was having a real hard time getting it to focus on fast moving items. It was over exposing a ton of the pictures too. I shot MotoGP last year with the previous gen camera and came out with some fantastic results, I'll have to figure out the settings.

Good luck with the install tomorrow (today). You guys probably aren't interested in running 1/4 mile, but I think I will be out at the test and tune on July 8th to clean some of that carbon out of the motor.

One of my friends just finished building a Mk I Scirocco with a 16V turbo motor in it converted to EFI on a Megasquirt, so we're going to go see what that thing will do. Trying to get a MR2 Turbo converted to the later gen JDM turbo to show up too.

Jantzen, perhaps you would like to take some photos?

Nice! I'm totally jealous. By the time I got there they said they didn't need any more corner workers

God damned Brits. I'll edit the youtube titles but the thread title can't be editted (without a mod).

He eventually caught that Z3 too! The yellow NSX wasn't very fast but the Red one with the Wing that Chris has pics of kept trying to chase down the Ferrari.

You can check the gallery I linked to at the top of my post, but I don't remember taking any of it specifically. I assume you mean the awesome one with the crazy body kit and not the normal looking blue one.

I think this is the only other one.

Pretty sweet car if you ask me. Small block V8 mounted real far back and real low. He could mount it so low because he was running a dry sump oil system.

edit: This thing was super quiet too. It was weird.

What do Brits have to do with it? Alfa Romeos are Italian.

Did anyone see what kind of performance the guy in the Ariel Atom was putting down? Also, did anyone run over to see if it was one of the turbo Ecotecs or supercharged Honda K-series?

It surprisingly wasn't too fast. Either it's not astronomically fast like we all think it is or it's just really twitchy even when not driven at the limits. By that i mean he looked like it was at the limits of the car but he wasn't moving too much on his competition.
