Anyone Local w/ a catless mid-pipe?
I should ask "Anyone who doesn't have one installed, OR would be willing to let me borrow it for a dyno test?"
I'll give ya your gas money and feed you if I could meet up with you, swap my cat for your midpipe. Another option, I suppose, to check the status of my car's cat would be this: Pull MY Cat off, install on your car, then dyno your car. Again, I'd cover all expenses.
If I'm right, and the cat is clogged, your car would suffer no ill-effects (once the cat was swapped back) - and would provide me GOOD DATA to convince Mazda to replace my car's cat.
Something like that, anyway.

I did. That time they took great care of me. Now they say they can't find anything wrong with the current. One problem may be that it's hard to see the front of the cat, due to the piping attached.
Either way I'm behind a rock here...going to have to spend MY MONEY to get them to do what it takes, I suppose.
A lemon-law attorney said they take cases when the car has had FIVE warranty repairs during the warranty-period, or has had 30 days (cumulative) in the shop for warranty work.
I'm at the 5-repair mark, easily. I'm probably close to the 30-day mark, too.

Sql - I don't want a cat laying around. I could have a test-pipe made for just a bit over $100; but the idea is to show Mazda "another OEM cat as replace ment could fix my car's issues". If all I can get is an after-market hi-flow, I'll try it!

Looks like you're my only shot, Dan - can't find a local cat off another RX8 to borrow for a dyno. You going to be around anytime soon? If not, we'll try again in april.
