We are looking to move to West Salem in the next couple of months. I'm getting the house ready to be put on the market and we have found a house we really love so it is just a matter of time.

Where should I take the car for service? How about emissions? I heard vehicles do not have to be smogged in Salem. If this is true then I should not have to worry about putting a FI kit on the car and really opens up what can be done to the 8

 

Power Mazda @503-585-6515. Af for your kit, not sure if this is ok in Oregon, but our governor is thinking about trying to push for an emission standard (like CA). Have to do more research to find out if this will affect you or not. Hope you like it over there!!

 

I live in Tigard - bought my 8 in Eugene - no smog was needed... I think you only need to have smog cert in PDX and Medford ...

I'm not aware of being smog certified or whatever. I bought my car in Portland but live a little ways from it actually in Mulino.

 

Smog depends on what address you are registered at, not where you bought the car. Smog tests are required at all Portland Metro addresses and in the Rogue Valley (Medford).

You get to skate free for 4 years anyway, new vehicles are not tested until the tags expire. I get until 2010!

What part of Salem do you live? I'm in NE..basically off of PGE on Portland Rd, way down Kale St..I know of another 8 owner just down the block..not sure if she has joined this club though..mentioned to her about this awesome site..
