Auto body shops in seattle area...

Hey guys,
I got a RX8 R3 and someone this weekend decided my car was way too pretty and put a huge door ding in to my passenger side door .. I'm very upset about this and need some advice on if this could be repaired without having to replace the panel and repaint (As i don't want to lose my nice paint job and deal with paint matching issues)..Also any suggestions on auto body shops would be appreciated. Attached are a couple of photos.

Thanks!

you can do paintless dent repair for about 50$ but that won't fix the paint issue. The only way to fix the paint is to get the whole panel repainted which is like 300+ dollars.

I got my dent fixed for like 65$ at thecarbar - you can google it. I am semi-happy with the job they did but I'm sure these other guys know better PDR people.

Welcome to the rx8club forums btw finally another 09.

Laugh, yea I've had my r3 for awhile, I bought it back in August, but I haven't had a reason to post yet. Out of curiosity, did you get your R3 from University Mazda? I know they sold a red one after my blue one.

ya i did get it from UMAZDA in december (probably paid too much). I went there to look at the used ones they had but I saw the R3 on the showroom floor and had to have it. Only thing I can complain about really is the lack of sunroof.

Yea, I paid under MSRP(I want to say around 30,500 i forget excatly what). However, I got them to throw in window tinting. I like UMazda but I think I could have got mine a little cheaper after all the financial woes went down ..

Yea I love my R3.. except that it has that ugly blemish now =(..

Got any mods you've been thinking about doing? UMazda owes me a cold air intake after they get a Mazdaspeed one for 09 working. I had an pre-09 one in but the check engine light kept coming on, though.

The pictures aren't very clear, but it looks like the "scuff" marks are on the surface of the paint, in which case it should "buff out." I know people use that term like a joke, but it should unless the paint has chipped or scrapped off. You might end up with something barely visible, but it's still better than a respray. Especially with blending metallics. They basically paint enough of the car so that you don't see the mis-matched paint all from the same angle.

I got mine for 30k flat. I want to get a short shifter, lowering springs and replace the plastic grill with mesh but all that will be done after I get my curb rash dealt with. you should def come out with us to our next meet esp since you sound like you are in the area anywayz and also I'm sure everyone including me would like to see a blue R3 in person.

btw after looking at the pictures somemore, A good PDR guy can make that look good as new and buff it out for under 75$

Yea I think I'm going to check out this Autobody shop in Woodenville a co-worker recommends. He said they do good work and that a PDR + buff should get most of it out. Although there might still be a slight blemish. However I think that would be better than a repaint and blend.

Whens the next meet up in the Seattle area? I'd come check it out. Never been to a one before.

If you guys didn't notice in the other thread about tint, that Apex Auto Restoration in Beaverton quotes starting at $45 per panel... I'm not really sure what that means, but that sounds like they'll take out a bunch of minor dings in an entire body panel for $45.

http://www.apexrestoration.net/index...t.repairCenter

I know it's far, but sounds really inexpensive.
