Beer or Coffee Mug?

I'm thinking about doing the 'leg work' to get RX8/Rotary?/Mazda? -specific beer or coffee mugs made. Unfortunately, Most beer mugs require a large order - 100 or more units. Coffee mugs require fewer units per order...

Anywho, I'd like to see if there is any interest in such products; I wouldn't make any profit, but I'd need some ppl to offer up $15? or so, per Coffee mug, or $5? or so per Beer mug... +/-. I'd prefer not to ship them, hence posting in this forum.

Anyone? I'm thinking they'd simply have either a rotary Engine cut-away, or a the RX8 Script (look at your trunk, where you see RX8)...

Great idea, and I hope you can make it work. IMHO--the engine cut-away (which makes a terrific paperweight or key chain) doesn't translate well onto the mug as pictured. I'd sure be interested in a couple of the RX-8 beer (or coffee) mugs, 'though. Keep us posted.

The RX-8 insignia would be cool on a nice aluminum coffee thermos/mug for the road :D Although I do like the beerstein version you put up.

Darin, that would be fun. I don't drink coffee, and I don't drive the RX-8 much, but my wife drives the RX-8 every day, and practically main-lines coffee, so she would enjoy it (especially if it were a big mug, and especially especially if it were one of those that allows you to drink hot beverages in the car.

I'm sure we would be happy to buy a couple of them.

Got the Red Mazda hot beverage cup for pre-ordering. Works for me!

BTW, it's always amusing when you post next to me, putting your avatar so near mine.

Like Cam's avatar, I too would like to 'hump' your s2k 220whp can't be wrong, eh?

:D

Here's what the mug would look like...sorta...I thought a mug w/o a handle would fit best in the center cup holders; I've used a handled mug there, but it seemed a bit clunky. 16oz, 'translucent'.

No, not wrong at all. :D I'm headed off this weekend to a two-day high performance driving school in Spokane. If the weather cooperates, it should be a blast.

You and I should take a drive on some nice day. We can talk about things other than politics, and it should be fun. :p

I'm thinking I'll go ahead with the order - after I discuss it with my wife. It'll run me about $180-200...I'll get 32 mugs. Those who want one from this group will get em at cost. The remaining I'll ebay for ~$20 each.

Great Idea, and I'll take one. Just be careful with the e-bay thing. As long as you don't make a profit your usually okay, but making a profit on someone elses trade mark can get you into trouble. I doubt you'll have a problem, but consider the licensing implications. If you can get a licensing agreement, it could be a great profit stream. Mfg's love to have aftermarket promotional material out there. Could be a win-win.
