Yah, we definitely pissed of the instructor with the blue polartech jacket. He, by the way, was driving a Ferrari. The guy in the yellow jacket was way chill though. He gave up on us on the skid pad but was very helpful on the kidney. He also drove a Saleen and when the ride he gave me around the crappier, Northern end course sucked because the course was a mess, he floored it through 1st, 2nd and 3rd so I could feel the car pull on his way back up the taxiway

What really surprised me though was how well that 370 pulled. The Nismo is 350hp (base is 332) and it's got all new suspension compared to the base. Granted, you could probably get all of that out of a base for more like $3k instead of the $7k price difference, but I think you'd have an easier time with AutoX if you can keep it in its stock class.

Ha, so, there was a blue RX-8 that showed up for the afternoon sessions yesterday that I thought was Shin at first then noticed it had a front plate and stock wheels. Turns out it's another MS employee and he just shot me a bunch of pics of my car:

Understeer, anyone?

k, maybe not that much

156 was probably Zack (I ran with 156 once)

Thanks for the report. Wish I could of made Sat. and Sun. That's too bad about TJ. That was so fun, though I can see how it was too fast, not that I think he should get in trouble. It's too bad that speed has to be dialed back. The fast part on the main runway, felt like a track day. That's the one thing I like about the BSCC, sometimes they can be a bit faster.

SCCA says 70mph max, but I think the bigger issue is that if WE were going 80mph, how fast were those vettes going? They were a full 4 seconds ahead of Zack's best time...

Or anything turbocharged will grunt its way beyond that 70mph mark.

I don't know, TJ said this was the longest in 20 years... and some of the board members were grumbling about how fast people got after the double pointers.

Brad, lol! If that's a Miata, it's been LS swapped

So I have a bunch of pictures from Friday, but none of us running, I took them whenever there were timing problems: http://pics.dpsubs.org/Bremerton_8-7-09/

Looks like a miata hood though.

At first I thought it was you but than I looked closer and noticed it wasnt an 8, sounded to mean and was to fast to be you.

Actually, a Miata would make sense, cuz it's the right color to be TJ's and he sent out the video. The line is all wrong for it to be a Miata though, he goes to the wrong side of the WTF Wedge and carries a LOT less speed into the taxiway than either Zack or I were... actually, watching it again, it's definitely TJ and he's doing it wrong

Maybe it's different in a Miata, but in the 8 we downshifted to 2nd at the gate before the wedge, went left around the wedge and then were basically flat out from the apex of the C-Box to the 2nd or 3rd gate on the taxiway. It was by far the fastest I've ever gone from the runway to the taxiway, somewhere around 60mph.

Also, I went all 4 off at the two pointer cones in the fast section. I tried lifting instead of braking and it definitely didn't bleed enough speed so the back end got loose, then I tried to save it and make it around the second pointer cone anyway... didn't work, ended up heading sideways at the grass, so I straightened out and got on the brakes, probably hit the grass at 40mph.

And then I got yelled at for getting off the grass right away instead of stopping on it. My cat definitely would've started a fire if I hadn't... idiots.

Heh, I just realized. His run starts at 0:02 and ends at 1:37, or 95 seconds. Chris ran a 88, I ran a 86, Zack ran a freaking 84, and the vettes were down around 82. 9 seconds is a LOT

I agree, but the course was totally sweet and it was nice not to have downed or moved cones for every run.
