So Packwood was interesting this weekend... off and on rain, cold weather and lots of wind. I couldn't keep heat in my tires to save my life and was all over the place... and a full 5 seconds off the pace. I don't have much in the way of pictures from the event but I've got a couple from the way there and back... I saw a van painted to straight up be the Scoobie-Doo Mystery Mobile.

There's an SCCA event this Sunday the 5th at Bremerton. Pre-reg is getting close to the end.

More pictures. I had to leave so I couldn't get both run groups in the PM. I was also running out of juice, so I couldn't get every single car in the run group... oh well...

I'm not sure who owns the "BSX" class black 8.

Good stuff! I'm glad you got to see Keith Brown's pumpkin skate board formerly known as a Miata.

The course was kinda nuts. I took a pic of the map, I'll try and edit it up to look presentable and post it. There was an element I've never seen before that I'm officially renaming the Bullshit Box, but the official name is an "Omni-directional Gate".

I also ran over a plastic bag on the way home that stuck to my CAT... not cool. It's melted on now and my car smells like burning green army men.

They also put the bullshit box right on the part of the track that was covered in gravel. May as well just called the whole thing a rally cross.

My mom did that once, it's going to smell like that for a long *** time. Now you have a reason to drive faster, the faster you go, the less you smell fumes.

So here's the bullshit box, click the image for a gigantic version:

It seemed to be the agreement that for momentum cars like us, the green line is the right one but it was tricky. The 3 cones at the cross-over made it tough to use any speed you carried out of there. The idea is no matter what, you need to go between the 2 cones I highlighted in Red in the zoomed in version.

So this flier was on one of the porta-johns:

I second that notion, it's a matter of personal health now.

Yah, I saw that... I think I'm in, I don't think I have anything important going on that day... the only consideration is saving up vacation time, I have 2.5 days accrued now and a friend is getting married in Australia in December so I kind of want to save as much as possible for that.

Edit: Or I did my math wrong and I'm fine on time. Never mind, let's do it!

Yah, actually I did my math wrong, I divided the hours by 24 instead of 8. My vacation time can roll over by 1 year and I barely took any time last year so I'm actually good to go.
