well first my check engine light was popping on and off. but when it happend it was t a high rpm i sounded like it was kind of struggling. and my buddy is good with this stuff so me and him went into it .. but he said it would take us about 4 hours if not more to figure out whats causing it. and the tools and space and time with my navy schedule.. i dont really have it. but we kinda came up with the misfire from the sound and the check engine light and such. let me konw if this helps. ill talk to him and see how he finalyl KNEW that it was a misfire

well usually thats the culprit, I would start there, doesnt take very long, I even think dozer wrote up a DIY for it.

then after you replace those reset your ecu by unplugging the battery for an hour+

Buy a set of BHR coils and a new set of plugs. I did the drive from Lewis, to Ft. Sill, to Detroit last summer. It was a blast and I made sure everything was 100% before I left post.

I had my CEL flash (misfire) at me at 18k miles and when I took it in they said my spark plugs were down to the nubs. I bet you need new plugs.

55k definitely a good bet the plugs and coils should be swapped. If you use the OE coils again then check the wires as well. FWIW my car has 50k and the plugs and coils have been replaced twice. I plan to buy the BHR setup this year so the coils, plugs and wires will get swapped again.

Just pull the plugs and post a pic first. We will be able to tell if they are bad, which is what I believe is your culprit.

I had an aftermarket ignition for awhile, but it is really not needed if you stay normally aspirated. I am back on OE coils and she runs fine. But if you have plans for a blower or turbo, then by all means ignition will be very important.

I'm tired of swapping the OE coils and always wondering if/when they are going to fail

I think you have a "belt driven" ulterior motive in mind also...

lol. so true.

my bhr ignition is still way better than having issues/misfires on the oe setup and having to worry about them failing again.
