Cheap Window Tinting In PDX
Hello all.... I have struck a deal with a local company to get a discount on window tinting. I told them that I knew a lot of people who would like to get their windows tinted. They said they would tint windows on an RX-8 for $190.00. By far the cheapest I have seen. If anyone is interested let me know. If we can get more people interested I may be able to get the price a little cheaper.

I have a friend in Portland. (Haven't talked to him in a few months) but he's a great tinter and I know he would beat that price. RX-8's are easy to tint. Our price here in Spokane for one retail is $169.00. But our sale price for this next month is $129.00. Crazy cheap as far as I'm concerned, but we did just open a new location and we're doing the 'Grand Opening Sale' thing. If you would like I can get my buddies info and PM you with it.

Yeah pricing here is too low. The fact that Spokane is much smaller than Portland and there are a ton of tint shops here. There are 9 tintshops within 30 minutes of me. My buddy in Portland has been tinting atleast 8+ years. I've been doing it for 17 and I know I worked with him for probably 5 or 6.

Cheaper is not always better. I'm going try 503 Motoring in Beaverton. I'm going to look at their work on tinting and 3M coating for rock chips. The owner told me about the beveled edge and more detailed finish they do. I had my Intgra done at Alexia cheaper which was fine for my second car but on my 8 I want it done perfectly.

Does anyone have any experiences (in regards to window tinting) they would care to share?

I would say look for a tint shop yourself. I do tinting for most dealerships here in town. The dealerships do nothing but mark up the price from what we charge them. You get the same tintjob but pay more. Most dealerships don't have inhouse tinters, they bring the cars to us. Most any tintjob these days come with a lifetime warranty unless you go to a shady shop or pick the wrong film. Look to see how long the shop's been in business. Plus make sure the lifetime warranty that they offer is MANUFACTURER-BACKED. Not just backed by the company. RX-8's are easy to tint. You do get what you pay for. But Portland is also known nationwide in the tintworld as an expensive place to have tinting done. Most of us tinters wish we could get for cars what Portland tinters get. Take a 6 hour drive and come see me!!!!

wndotinter - Thanks for the PM you sent me a while back. I am looking for a shop to get it done and will gladly post my findings once it happens. Thanks for the tip about Manufacturer - Backed warranty.
And as for driving up to see you to get my windows tinted, if I can't find a quality shop here, you may hear from me...

I had mine done at the end of last summer in Vancouver, WA. I paid $150.00 and he gives it a warranty.
I forget the name of the place, but if you take I-205 and exit Mill Plain. Turn left and it is across the street from Wal-Mart in a yellow building.

I think I paid $135 for the sides @ 35%. I will check my docs and update the info later this weekend. The upside to the deal is that if it ever fades, peels, cracks or whatever, Ron Tonkin and Co. will see to it that the problem is resolved. At no expense to me....
