Coming to seattle

Guys,

Just thought I would say hi.
I am moving to seattle in novemeber for a 2 year overseas posting from australia.
Unfortunately I will have to leave my RX8 behind, but I am hoping to pick a new one up when I get over there.

Anyway, I would love to meet up with some guys who are into cars etc when I get over there.

And get to know the car scene over there etc.

There is a monthly rotary meeting every second Monday in Olympia, but I am the only 8 that shows up. I think we need to start an 8 only club. I'm thinking of joining one in Portland, but have not commited to that yet. Let me know what you find out.

Nemesis, I'd join a group in the Olympia/Tacoma area.

Also welcome DragToys, I am currently doing an overseas trip to New Zealand with the United States Air Force...little bit of a coincidence huh? Havn't seen any 8s here yet.

Anyway, a Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia club would be fun, and I'd like to see one start up, if anyone has the time or experience to get it off the ground.

Dragtoys, are you RAAF? I have a buddy who is a FA-18 pilot who did 2 years down your way with your RAAF. Regardless, University Mazda treated me very well when I bought mine 2 weeks ago, and the 2 year lease might be a great option for you under your cricumstances.

Nemesis; what, when, and where is 7stock? Info please .

Dragtoys, I highly recommend University Mazda also. I've bought two 8s from them. If you're thinking about, talk to John Kiernan, and tell him Jess sent you.

I too would like to heartily recommend university mazda, I was a preorder customer from them back in the first batch, and have had nothing but great service since then. My wife and I have never had such outstanding service from a car dealer, even over a year after buying the car.

Not sure if youre over here yet, or looking for an 8, but I would also highly recommend University Mazda. Thats where I bought mine.

I worked with Barry N. - the internet sales manager, great service, a real straight shooter.

Well I have arrived finally.
I went to the autoshow the other weekend, then spent a week finding a new place to live before starting work today.
Found a nice place in bell town.

I was looking at the cars in the autoshow, and there are some sweet cars and cheap compared to australia. eg my RX8 cost me over $72g.

But work gives me a buick century, and obviously that is not to my tastes. after the 8 and a 3000GT.

Yeah I heard university mazda was good from the guy at the show as they are used to guys from out of the country and no US credit history etc.

Not sure what to buy yet. As I would like to get a very american car that I cant get at home.
I was looking at secondhand vipers and the new corvette. which are both cheaper than my Australian RX8.
So I will probably spend a few months looking around.

But it would be great to meet up with some people into cars and stuff. even though I can only cruise in my buick

I would love to go on a few cruises etc. even it is with someone else driving and I was a passeneger in the 8

Let me know when something is on and I will catch up.
I am away in LA for Thanksgiving, so any other time let me know.

OK after 18 months without my Rx8 and driving a buick
I have my brand spanking new Rx8.

I am engaged to an american so it was time to get my own car and give the buick back to the company.

We picked it up in San Francisco last weekend and drove it up.
Exactly the same as my old one, black with red black interior.

Now to order my body kit again

So I am keen to know what is going on in the seattle area.

I have my 8 Back.

We are having an all Mazda drive up to St. Helen's onm Saturday the 13th. I'm driving up to Kent to get an install at Intec Racing maybe next week (Can't get them to call me back yet). You could meet up there for a quick look at the Nemesis car

Yeah I was thinking about the cruise.
So I might see you there.
I was going to meet up at the area near Boeing field in seattle as I live in downtown seattle.

Shane!

On my way home today I thought of you... I was behind a late model Buick Regal, but it was SUPERCHARGED! It totally cracked me up... I had no idea there was such a thing!

And besides, when I think of Regals, I think of the older models that are butt-ugly IMO, so I was surprised that I actually liked the body style of the one I was following.

Later,
Linda

Hahaha, Supercharged Buick, that is funny.

Hey ANIBALRX-8 if I put on the body kit I will most likely retain the current rear bar, as most rear bars for the RX8 are just add-ons to the existing on. So you still need the existing on on there.
