Did my recall check today...
I have a 2005 with 5,700 miles on it. Milam Mazda in Puyallup got me in first thing this morning and took less than two hours to complete. Everything checked out fine, and I got the PCM flash and needed nothing else. I have read of others getting a free tank of gas with this check, but the service writer said that's news to him. They washed my car and I was on my way. I believe that the powerband feels smoother and I perceive the car to be quicker off the line. Sure would be nice to find that I get better mileage, so I topped off the tank and will report my results.

its part of the recall to top of your car and wash it, i take my car to russ durmires, in tacoma. i been doing bussiness with them for the past ten years, its got to the part were i go back to there bay and i can see what they do to my car and they send me to meet with one of there rep at the local gas station were they were filling up an other rx8 full of gas and i put $36 dollars of gas on my 8, so they rip you off!!!

they totally riped you off, i just got mine back this afternoon. and they toped it off with 92 octaine.
after the recal work:
its not idling as rough as it was, but it definatly feels like it has a loss in power. but on the other hand it doesent cut out when you shift at redline, and it feels smoother all around. i think it took power away, but the power feels smoother.

yup - Miliam screwed you out of something Mazda asks dealers to do.
I'll never go back to Miliam, that's for sure...long story though.
Dunmire did my recall work. Washed, vacuumed, Filled the tank.
My car feels substantially quicker on the new flash, fwiw.

Sorry, have to laugh hearing about problems with Milam. Not going to get into much in the way of specifics, but after working there, I'll just say I'm a little leery.
On a related note, anyone had good/bad experiences with Pinnacle Mazda? they're within walking distance of my wife's work, and so far I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

i have nothing but good things to say about Everett Mazda. as i have known the service guys since it was a Mitsu dealership. and service just swaped over. great place to take your car. they always wash the car and vacume it, everytime i take it in there. i can take my car in there to get it washed even if im not getting anything done on the it.

I sure was screwed out of the gas by Milam Mazda. Check out this post to see the letter Mazda North America gave to the dealer's regarding this recall campaign. https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...60&postcount=7
It clearly states that they are to top off the tank up to $60 dollars worth.
I've emailed Mazda North America and Milam Mazda and tomorrow I'll call Mazda North America.
Print out the dealer letter and give it to your service writer so you get what Mazda N. A. is willing to give to you. I'm pretty sure Milam billed Mazda for gas I never received. I can't recommend going to Milam for service.
