Differential growl.

Differential growl.
I'm hearing a low growling or rumbling noise that sounds like it is coming from the differential (this started about 2000 miles ago). It only happens after I have been driving on the freeway and then get off and make sharp turns like in a parking lot. I'm thinking since the car is hot, the oil is thin in the differential, and the gears are noisier. Just a guess.
The thing that worries me is, I had an old RX-7 with a 100K + on it and it had what I remember to be a very similar noise problem only much louder. It was scarey to drive it over 80MPH.
My current RX-8 is a 2004 automatic with 10K on it. Does anyone know what the cause of this is? I've heard it's normal from a couple people including one of the technicians at Everett Mazda and also from the guy I bought my old RX-7 from. Thanks in advance for any info y'all can provide.

I have never heard mine do it and it has 25k on it now. I did replace the factory fluids in the diff and trans at 16k with redline fluids. You might want to go that route just to put better stuff in there. Oh yea, when I replaced the fluids at 16k they were pretty burnt looking.
