Dumping money into the RX8

Getting ready to do group drives AND at least one track day before winter sets in:
  • Azenis 615s in 245/40/18
  • Axis Ulltimate Brake Pads
  • Tein Basics Coilovers

When the coilovers show up, I'll have an Install Party. For ALL Your RX8 needs, call my friend Eddie at http://www.adrenalineracing.com/

Watch out for the Azenis .They have a tendency to go really greasy when they get hot. My buddy who just sold his 8 and got a Elise had those on his 8 and they would do good for a few laps then whoosh greasy. Now he did say he noticed it more on hot days and during the afternoon (which makes sense) . Other than that he loved them Oh and ask Eddie he knows Dave and knows if you drive as hard as him on the track and if those tires will hold up for you. He next to Eddie were the 2 guys I've driven out there that I noticed pushed their cars to the limits

Thanks - I used the older model Azensis on my Miata and never had any issues w/ them, but I appreciate the insight.

I'm hoping to get a Pacific Raceways Alfa Day on 14 Oct - Portland is way the heck down there...

If I can't get in on the 14 Oct day, the 22nd is a possibility. What have you done to your car to prepare?

Well I drive a 3 hatchback but I've gone to Mazdaspeed struts\springs,Yokohama AVS ES100 ,Racing Beat sway bars (3 x's the size of stock ones ) AWR rear motor mount , Vibrant exhaust with header coming soon,K&N typhoon CAI AXXIS Ultimates in the rear and HAWK HPS in the front,. I was thinking of buying Dave's 8 but decided not to because I think I'm going to get the Mazdaspeed 3 or wait for 2 years when I get my car paid off and get something faster.
Oh and talk to Eddie about your brake pad selection .I don't know how much you track but I know Dave went through pads until he finally got the perfect ones. Forgot what they were but Eddie knows.
