was that supposed to say MS3 instead of R3?
that's a solid number for Dondo.

any theories on why the BNR keeps dropping boost?

The R3 hit 174 I think. Can't remember exactly, may have been 172. I will post the PDF's when I get them e-mailed to me.

Pdxhak has work to do to the wastegate it seems. One more run and we are complete. I will let Dondo post up the MS3 torque monster numbers.

meaning you guys are actually finishing on time? wow.

these internal wastegate ordeals are really hammering the low-mount turbo guys.

would really like to see the charts.

race anyone? Dondo versus Dondo?

$100 says WG. But from what I recall of the discussion about them in another thread, it simply not conducive to making the boost folks want. Has ANYONE made any appreciable gains with the BNR over the Greddy snail yet? If so, has it been done by anyone who hasnt had nightmare of a time with WG trickery? There's your sign...

either wastgate control issues , incorrect vacuum pipe hookup , leaks , or a combination of those .

brettus: you and I were pretty damn close on our pics for nemesis and dondo.
guess we'll have to wait and see what pdxhak did but it sounds like yet another WG issue plaguing a car on the dyno so who knows what his numbers will actually be.

Yep wastegate issues. The boost controller was maxed out and made 12 or 13 psi by 3500 and then it dropped off really fast to 4 or 5 psi. 216whp 194tq (I think). Surgeline has a policy that you can not fix cars in the shop so they would not let us jack it up to adjust the actuator. Monday the car goes back to FD3S to have the actuator adjusted and on 12/17 the back to Surgeline. Jeff with complete the tune real time while the car is on the dyno.

Still 35-40whp and 60+ tq gain was fun on the way home. Hopefully adjusting the actuator Monday works and holds boost longer. The tune is safe for me to drive which is the most important part. The new motor seems solid. The turbo install was spot on. No leaks.

pdxhak: sounds like a productive day but sorry to hear that your damn wastegate acted up and they wouldn't let you repair it on site.
I bet the extra 40hp was tons of fun on the way home!

Get that darn thing adjusted and back on the dyno, sounds like your car is itching to make more power.

That sounds to me like you have another issue as well .
You have the BNR upgraded actuator right ?

Has anyone ever stepped back and wondered why so many(all?) of the BNR stuffs fight with WG issues and dropping boost?

Thanks man It was a great day overall. It sucks we could not make the necessary adjustments but I understand and have no issues with their policy. Jeff, FD3S and Surgeline are all working me with me to get it resolved. I'm very thankful

not in quite some time. I quit paying attention when everyone was trying to fix an inherent problem that should be designed out in the first place

1) BNR compressor is too small; and
2) Wastegate actuator needs more preload.

#2 was outside what we could accomplish on the dyno at Surgeline since we couldn't "work" on the car while it was there.

Ding!

Though this isnt exactly a newfound discovery. I never understood why so many people jumped into this boat knowing that they'd be fighting the wastegate from day one
