EastSide Meeting

Eastsiders Unite against the Tyranny of the South Sound
Not to be starting something different, but it seems that there are several of us on the east side of Lake WA and Izzy's in Oly on a Monday night at 7 is a bit of a trek. Why not the Oyster House, just a thought Anyway, is there any buy in towards the eastsiders figuring out a meeting place for a monthly meet and greet? Where tall tales may be told and other cars made sport of :D Just a thought for discussion.

I tried to get a Seattle/Eastside meet going last year but did not find to many interested people.
That being said, I'd be up for it.
But not a Monday. Make it a Thurday, Sat/Sun. If Sat/Sun more late afternoon.

The S2000 folks do this, same time, same place, every week. I've only been a couple of times, but it seems to be a well-attended thing most of the time. They go to the Azteca off of 148th Avenue, for unlimited tacos and BS. But there seems to be a much more cohesive S2000 community around here, much of it revolving around autocross and track events, which are poorly attended by the RX-8 folks.
I suspect that, in order for such a thing to get off the ground, a few people have to just do it, regularly, and publicize it beforehand (and afterwards post how much fun it was). After a while, it might take off. Or it might bomb.

I thought east side was the east side of Cascades. You people east side of LW, welcome to the east side. I guess you are tired of your state being run by King County as well. Or are some of you in King County?

I spent last weekend on the real "east side," driving on the track in Spokane. A good time was had by all.

Yes, yes - growing up in YakiVegas (the Palm Springs of WA) that is the true East-side. However, for the purpose of this hopeful meeting; we're liberating the use of East side to the area east of Lake WA. I'm sure in Kennewick, you get some looks and a great deal of, "that's a purty car boy." :p "Is that some new-fangled Japanese car?"

I'm up for a regular eastside/north end meet. I doubt I'll ever be in a position to attend an Olympia meeting. I keep putting it on my calendar, but the drive (a rush-hour no less) keeps competing for time with the rest of my life.

Good grief, we're actually getting some responses! Do we have any concurrence as to a day of the week and or location. Somewhere between Tukwila and Everett would probably appeal to the most. Thursday night meeting, no one really works on a Friday - do they?

Just a thought, but perhaps one of our problems in organizing an 8 meeting is that no one posts in our regional site. Not counting the mountain states, because no one does, we're pathetic in initiating threads and or responding. This must be indicative of the NW's cloud cover, it just bums us all out so we don't want to do anything but look at our own 8's. Coat number seven of Zaino went on today, my goodness but it's shiny!

But, I'll be there soon actually since I need to buy a few last needed parts for my 2nd gen's bridgeport and rebuild.

Then there's the INWR or whatever that's on the other side of the mountains that has regular meetings and such. Seems like everyone that is active is down in Olympia area, or on the other side of the mountain. Never anything going on in the Seattle/Bellevue/Kirkland area.

I'd be all for the Puyallup meet! South center is a bit far.
somewhere in Tacoma might be better since it's right on I-5.
I don't work Fri. or Sat., but I work late Sun. - Thur. so it would have to be Sunday day, or anytime Friday, Sat.
Any way, I hope that something good can get worked out for us 8 guys.

Seattle, Bellevue, or Kirkland

Where is Hectors? Im not familiar with that.
I'd prefer a Thursday, either around 5:30 (right after work) or late evening - 7:30 or so after traffic dies down.
Thursday is preferable since I dont mind being a little tired on Fridays, if the meet last long.
Monday -Wednesday is too early in the week. It makes it easier to bail. " I have a long week coming up" 'MNF is on" (football season).
That my .02.
Someone set something up and Im in.
Puyallup/Tacoma guys.. I dont expect many to make a Kirkland meet, but would like to attend your meeting (if one happens) and is not early in the week, etc.

Hector's is right downtown (old Kirkland) by the lake, easy to find. The thought on Thursday is perfect, as who really wants to work on Friday and it's easy to get through the last day of the week! 7:30 would probably be a good time too, though 5:30 right after work is also good. For the heck of it, let's try aiming for next week at the above place on the above day of the week, and let's have some additional input on the time(s)

Hector's is a restaurant/bar right on Lake WA Blvd. In retrospect, it might not be the greatest place to meet simply owing to parking and our inability to park all of our lovely 8's together. How about an alternative venue idea - where we can all park together and peer at our cars?

I was just wondering what it was mainly for the fact that I'm not yet 21 (only another 4 months) and was just curious if it was a bar of some sort.
Nothing too exciting to see on my car yet anyways, so parking my car wont matter as much as some of yours Just custom grounding and pulleys really, with removed intake silencer (and plugged hole) and a few misc things removed. Looks stock so nothing to go crazy over.

There's the free parking at the Library which shouldn't be too bad on a Thursday evening, but we certainly wouldn't be able to park together. Burger Master is over at the other end of the Blvd, at Northup and 520. I've never seen them too busy on a Friday, plus it's kind of a car hang out any how. Burger, Fries, and a Shake for less than 7 bucks, too. It's right next to the BCC North campus. It's a drive in though, so if you're like me, you'll want to order, and then get out of your car when the food arrives (I wont eat anything in the car that has the potential to make a smelly mess). If there's anyone who would be taking the Hwy to get there, we want to meet later, like 19:30 (520 backs up terribly in the evenings).

Or, for a place more on the water, there's Kid Valley. The parking on the side street is usually clear in the evenings, and the burgers aren't bad. Kid Valley is Across the street from one of the many parks on Lake Washington Blvd.
