Exhaust install?

Anyone want to give me a hand with an exhaust install sometime today? I'd do it myself but am lacking jackstands. my flight just got in so i'm gonna take a nap but sometime around midday or early afternoon would be good. let me know otherwise, i'll just go buy some.

Worse part is getting the hangers out!

What exhaust are you going with?

so i'm still at it struggling with the last spring bolt. everything is in place except for this last one. i realize you should be able to loosen the nut to decompress the spring but mine is like stuck shut to i'm trying to muscle it in there to no avail.. i'll keep at it but it's real dark and cold outside..

i went with the mazdaspeed dual sport exhaust.

thanks for the wishes of luck; i def need them now. the hangers were ok after lubing them up a bit.

Those spring bolts can be a pain. Do you have any vice grips?

so when i took the pipe off the cat i got two bolts with springs threaded over them. these bolts have threads on both sides and one side has a nut that looks like it should come off to relieve pressure on the spring.

when you guys do this do you just take off the nut, or the whole bolt? and then do you just thread the bolt back in or take off the nut?

c clamps did the trick! not having the right tools to hand makes this process a lot longer than necessary, but all is well now.

Glad to see you got it on. My mom's condition was worse than I expected, and the doctors said any day we could loose her.

Grats on the MS exhaust. I've had mine installed at the dealer (a couple of months after I purchased the car back in Sept 06). My only regret was that I should've told them that I was going to keep the OEM exhaust after they installed the MS dual exhaust. Ahh well.

Anyways, enjoy your new toy.

yeah i have it sitting the garage now and don't know what to do with it. i'd like to hang on to it but it's rather bulky. considering getting rid of it and finding another if i ever needed to switch back.

You loving the new sound?

I have the Corksport exhaust which is supposed to sound very similar to the MS exhaust and I love it. I love ripping through tunnels and underpasses.
