Got flashed on Tuesday
I was doing my daily session of high revs when my CEL started flashing at me. I thought oh great . I called my dealer to see when I could bring it in. I dropped it off and the had it checked out first thing. I guess the car registered a misfire. They checked the spark plugs and the mechanic said they were down to the nubs at only 18000 miles Whew!! I 'll take a run down part over a bad engine any day. I didn't want to deal with warranty issues. Everything is good. Just thought I'd share.

Plugs go quickly on our cars. Be sure to order a set through a vendor or autozone and install them yourself because the dealership will want a lot to do it. My dealership quoted me $300 when I inquired about it a couple years ago.

I get this CEL after or during track days and some autocrosses. I'm not sure why. I replaced my spark plugs, coils, wires, cleaned my MAF, clean the air filter and seafoamed the engine all before or during this summer of driving events and it still happens.

My first reman engine would throw out the 3 misfire codes all the time, more so at higher rpm's. Plugs, coils, & wires were all fine. The only thing that would fix it was resetting the eccentric cam memory or something like that (the 20 brake pedal reset). The first couple times I tried it, it actually threw the cel code out more. But when I took it to the dealer their fix was to do the exact same thing, only it actually worked on the 3rd try. Well it worked for a few months anyway, I had it a few more times just before that engine catastrophically failed.
Wow, $300 for the dealer to swap the plugs! It's insane to charge that much, and someone would have to be equally insane to pay it. I'm glad they futilely changed mine for free when my first engine was dieing.

LOL
reminds me one day i was on the freeway and i passed this van full of what appeared to be a highschool team of girls from soccer/volleyball or some sport (there were a couple cute ones!). they eventually caught up and as they passed me all i see through the van's windows are bare asses on the windows haha. stayed alongside them for a while and they eventually wrote a number on a paper and stuck in on the window. i have slightly bad eyesight and they wrote it in thin pen writing so i was unable to make out the number...fail. lol. they exited off the freeway shortly after. i was lmao the entire time haha.
funny thing is a man who im assuming was their coach was driving the van and did not seem to notice all this naked *** inside his own van hahaha. or maybe he did, i dont know.

I got this at my last track day also, with almost brand new plugs. The CEL will flash the first time it misfires and if it has another misfire while still flashing it will come on solid. I didn't have an ODB reader with me at the time so I ran to Schucks during a break and had them clear it for me (and verify that it was just a misfire). Later in the day it flashed a few more times but each time I saw it before it came on solid and would come in and let it go off before going back out. I've seen other people here complain of the same thing. I really didn't want to take it to the dealer and have them say "Hmm, misfired at 135MPH/9300 RPM".
