Hit and run

Hit and run
I got hit and run (ran?) last night when parked at Kirkland Park Place. A friend of mine and I were at TGIFriday's from ~10pm - midnight hanging out. Sometime during that period some worthless bastard either backed out or tried parking next to me and managed to rub/scrape against the left corner of the rear bumper. It left black paint scratches and (oddly enough) there was a black SUV parked in the spot next to me when I went in. I hate people so much.
The bumper will have to be replaced. I'll only be out my deductable. It still pisses me right the F off. I hate gutless cowards that damage someone's car and don't leave their phone number/contact information. I wouldn't care about this at all if they would have just been a responsible adult about it and left their phone number and a note. I hate people so so much.
There. I feel a little better after ranting some. But not much.

Very sorry that happened to you. Many years ago my car was hit by a drunk idiot while I was eating in a resturant so I can relate.
Some SUV drivers are creatures worthy of hate as are drunk drivers but don't hold your breath waiting for most people to step up and do the right thing.

Oh man, sorry to hear it! How big are the black scratches?
The reason I ask is - did you see my post in another thread about backing into a car when I was backing out of my friend's driveway? I thought I had sort of folded my bumper in and cracked some paint and then it popped back out again. There was a black line that looked like paint missing. I couldn't find anything black on the car I backed into - it was a gold Honda - so I thought I chipped my paint. Well, I was showing my brother the booboo and he scraped a little at the edge of the black and it flaked off!!! There must have been something on the other car that I didn't see. So now I only have a couple of small scratches that I can buff out. I'm so happy! So I hope yours isn't too bad...

FYI hit and runs are handled differently than regular claims. You will have to file a police report and provide it to your insurance. And your insurance company should lower your deductible.
BTW sorry to hear about the hit and runs. I use to own an Audi A4 that it happened to 3 times

^ I do that everytime I have to park next to other cars. I write down the license plate numbers, make, and model of the cars on each side of me, as well as in front of me, and then I take several pictures to show how everyone was positioned. I usually also try to make sure I get the license plates readable in photos also. I always inspect my car for any possible damage when I get back to it, especially if anything has changed concerning who is parked next to me. I've been getting kind of soaked lately doing this since it is our rainy season again. My only exception to the pictures/plate number is if it is someone I know that is parked next to me, because they know to fear me and my wrath if they damage my car. I generally feel much safer parking next to someone who knows me anyway. Generally I just park away from other cars, even if it means having to walk farther than necessary.

mine got hit a few days ago, a suburban backed into it. A lady came in to the restaraunt and asked who drove the Green car outside and I figured there weren't too many so I walked out to her and she said she heard and saw a suburban back into it and when she thought to look for a plate they were hauling *** out of the place. To put it nicely I was a tad pissed off...
I filed a police report but haven't had time to call up the insurance, it's good to know that I may not have to pay the whole deductible if the post above is true. *crosses fingers*
