I have an extra $400-$600 to spend..

As title says, I need some help spending an extra $400-600 from the guy that hit my car last year. Im going to get the body work fixed at a later time (when I get back to MI in 2011).

Anyway I had a few ideas of things I can install myself.

1. Greddy Oil Filter Relocation Kit (I have big *** hands...this will be easier)

2. Carbon Fiber Ram Air Duct (Will get painted Ti Gray to match)

3. Tein Hood Dampers (I hate that stupid bar)

Subtotal $400-450 (parts), plus paint.

Option 2

1. ACT PROLITE Flywheel (9.8 lb)

2. ACT Flywheel Counterweight

subtotal ~$375 shipped

Option 3

Give me what you think I should add

**Parts already installed:
-K&N Typhoon V2
-AP Catback w/ cat delete
-AP with MM tune (Needs update)
-BHR Coils
-Tokio D-Spec (F&R)
-Tanabe GF springs
-AP Endlinks
-Progress Front Swaybar
-Tenzo Type M rims w/ BFG KDW's
-Clear corners
-F&R Exotic Speed CF Strut towers
-RB Ashtray Gaugepod

*Parts still needing to be installed when I hit stateside:
-AFE SS
-AP Pulley Kit
-Oil Cooler Fan Kit (Drivers)
-RR Synco-saver
-Progress Rear Swaybar

Adding a light weight flywheel will hurt more than anything cause it will drop your torque.

Option Jew:
Keep saving for MS kit?

Its fine, and my home is paid off in full. Being 24 with paid off toys and a 300K house is great....except the way I recieved it. I'd give it all away to have my mother back.

No MS kit for me, I like the stock GT looks.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother, but that's an excellent answer... I was completely expecting a smart-*** response about having plenty of time to save later, jokes about retirement, so on and so forth...

I vote for option 1 since it seems the most practical.

Looks like you got a great start. I guess this is one benifit of being deployed, plenty of money with no where to spend it. Given the two choices I would go for option 2.

Have you considered getting a professional tune??? IDK about tuners in your area, but with all the mods youo have it would seem to be the option that would provide the greatest improvement. Just a though. Keep the press on out there and be safe!

+1 on the tune. Given past history with MM, I'd suggest looking up the shop GeorgeH went to down in Portland (the name escapes me now... I don't *think* it was Corksport but it might've been). He's sitting pretty at an astonishing 208hp @ the wheels NA and I plan on going to them some time this spring post a high-flow cat, catback and potentially headers...

Speaking of which, what about getting a new exhaust header? I haven't seen any good dyno charts comparing the current ones out there but there are several people in the STX thread looking at them for next season so by the time you get back, we should have a pretty good idea of which one to go with. That + a tune should be awesome.

Other issues with the house came up, and the SC won't happen with the deployment $. Im going to owe the G/F's dad a few grand in taxes and utilities when I get back.

Im waiting to hear back from a few other vendors, but I might pass on BHR. Ive found the kit other places cheaper, but all I was offered was a cell phone number when I was looking to order multiple items in addition to the N2O.

Im pretty set on getting all of option #1 minus the ram air vent, in addition to the Zex kit.

If there's anything this past season of AutoX taught me (the hard way, I might add. "Zack Walker" is Zack Wolkoff, who beat me by 1.5 seconds in my own car. That was the first weekend with coilovers), it's that experience trumps mods every time... you might want to consider spending it on one of the Proformance schools, or perhaps one of the Evo schools.

The Evo schools even come with this awesome bumper sticker... which I can't seem to find a picture of, but it's something like "I attended Evolution Performance Driving School, Now I Suck Less" and I've seen it on the back of a dozen local racers' cars.

depends what you're going for, coil overs won't make you faster in a straight line haha

I already have a suspension setup installed. I have the D-Spec's with a good set of springs. They are adjustable so the only difference in swapping them out for coilovers would be ride height....and I don't need to.

Waiting on a price quote to come in for the Zex and oil filter kit.

What're the spring rates on yours? That's the other difference until you hit the $2,000 mark on coilovers, where you start to get more points of adjustment (that I have no clue what to do with ).

Heck, another option is just do the alfa day w/ an instructor then spend the money on PR lapping days

He went to Surgeline Tuning to have his AP tuned. He has Corksport's exhaust though.

Ok, my purchase was over the $600 mark, but it included some things from all of the groups mentioned.

I now have about $2000 worth of goodies to install upon my return.

ADDED:
Zex 82021B
BHR Spacer and Stealth Jet
Greddy oil filter kit

Im still going to look for the Tein hood struts later.
