I love my car

I love my car
I love the fact that Mazda saw fit to engineer the paint well enough that it hasn't faded.
I was giving Ruby a bath yesterday, and 3 different guys felt compelled to comment on how good she looks. That's 4 and half years, and 76000 miles later.
I've also been going through and checking all the little mechanical bits and keep grinning when something I hadn't even noticed was wrong goes back to original performance.
Sure, I could complain about the terrible syncros, but I gave them more than enough abuse. My only other complaint is how tough it is to find an air filter. You'd think I was looking for a plasma relay for the flux capacitor.

It's been just over a month now, and I still break out into a senseless grin every time I see my car.
About a week ago now I pulled up next to a Miata and a 350z at a light and started to go through my rationale that landed me looking for an 8. I started second guessing myself and then remembered... I drove 3 other people around the day before. I love the way these cars SOUND, I love how aggressive they look, I love the fact that I moved between temporary housing and my new apartment in a single trip, I love merging onto the highway (when it's not rush hour anyway)... oh, and I love having a sun roof. I'd never really even considered caring about having one but I don't know how I could live without one now.

Got home from Taco Tuesday last night as a gaggle of HS girls was walking by the house. One them felt compelled to yell from the sidewalk "I love your car" despite my being fat and more than 10 years their senior. :D Good thing I'm not into Jail Bait.

Working in Redmond and living in the U District of Seattle, I spend quite a bit of time in traffic. My new thing has been not shifting into 2nd until 20mph and coasting at 3-4k RPM. The SOUND the car makes turns the head of every pedestrian and biker, I love it

I'd been a student in some capacity from 1984 to 2006, and lived without a car in my family for 15+ years. Then I immigrated from Canada and couldn't afford a car because I didn't have a work permit. I finally got my first vehicle (other than a scooter) for $500, then later inherited a baby-blue RAV-4 (lost it in a divorce), a crappy Corolla and a beat up truck. All garbage. Still broke.
Last year I got a good job and bought my RX-8 cash. My favorite part is people that know me saying "That's YOUR car?!" Everyone overestimates the cost of these beautiful machines.
