I need a good and VERY EXPENSIVE body shop

Hey guys, just before I headed home last week to Michigan a guy on Fort Lewis rear ended my 8. Well come to find out, the joker (since I can't say what I really think of the ghetto-assed, big rim, music balsting, talking on the cell phone, and smoking a cigar type of person he is) does not have insurance!

Thus, since it was on a military base, and we are all required to have insurance, the MP said I can make him pay every cent! Its nothing that I cant live with...body damage and a curb rashed rim, but the fact he has no insurance I want to royally screw him over.

I also think that the new Greddy exhaust that I need to buy might need to be replaced...you know it did get bent....LOL!

Im looking in the Tacoma, Fife, Fed-way areas.

If he doesn't have insurance what makes you think he has money sitting in a bank waiting for you to get a judgement on him? Talk to YOUR insurance company and see what they say.

you should also get a new rear diffuser and shave your trunk and get new rims.

I hope your insurance covers uninsured motorists.

only if you're paying the premiums for it..

mine is 100 bucks if the guy writes a note or you know who it is. otherwise, it's 300 bucks. still a cheap way to get your car fixed after a hit and run.

how many times have you been hit by someone with no insurance?

my guess is 0. i've been hit three times and it is a huge pita. i'd definitely use this opportunity to make some changes for cheap.

once actually. wasn't at fault.
and it was a three car accident. one person didn't have a license, both didn't have insurance. my car was totalled, but I was covered

changes are fine. cheap is fine. but are you honestly saying deliberately finding an expensive place just to screw someone over is okay?

whatever. I'd feel bad deliberately screwing over someone's life for the sake of fixing up my car but maybe that's just me

I think you guys missed the big point of this post. This guy is a senior leader in the army. He knows he is required to have insurance.

The military can come up with the most obscure punishments for anything it (who ever is over the case) wants to.

I know a guy who lost rank, was made to live in the barracks for 2+weeks (married and has kids), lost 3 months of pay, and a whole lot of dignity because he talked back to an officer once.

I was only joking about the exhaust and other parts, I just want a good pro. job done on my car. All 3 pieces of the rear cover need to be replaced due to scratches he caused. The cover itself, the gray diffuser, the rear flares on the right side, all got hit.

My deductible is 500, which is low, but when you don't make much, and student loans kick your *** every month, its hard to get that to just drop.

Well despite the 500 dollar deductible, you can probably get him to pay for that as well. Maybe not up front but chances are the insurance company will just take it out of the total payment they give you for the work. If they just want the company to bill them, you'll obviously have to foot the bill but you can certainly speak with the military about making him pay the 500 bucks. He's in the military, I guarantee you he can afford it. If all else fails he can sell the vehicle he has to pay for it.

And yes I agree the military will completely screw him because of his stupidity. And yeah, I know exactly what kind of person you're speaking of. I imagine he's got a huge ego and extremely cocky. Make him pay! Then sit back and wait for the military to do the rest.

As someone who had thier RX8 totaled by someone who did not have a licence or insurance, here is my take on what will happen.

1) You most likly had uninsured motorist insurance, so you pay the $500, and that is it out of your pocket. Next, I am sure a police report was made, so now your insurance companys will go after this guy to recoup thier costs to have your car fixed....that is how he will pay. The will sue him and get a judment against him to repay the costs.

2) you can take him to small claims court to get your $500 back.

3) with you both being in the military, there might be some more that happens within the military, but you would probably know more than me on that one.

I feel your pain and I know it really sucks ***, just be glad it wasn't totaled.

I think it was a big mistake to post the details of this on a public forum, especially the fact that you want to milk it for parts that weren't damaged. You were probably serious when you later said that you were joking about this, but this could still be used against you. It's pretty easy to figure out who anybody on this forum is, and even easier in your case since the number of RX-8's wrecked on Fort Lewis by somebody with no insurance in the last month is probably one. As you said, the military can come up with the most obscure punishments for anything, including what could be considered an effort to defraud a senior leader in the Army, no matter how big an *** he is. It's just a suggestion, but you should consider the fact that posting things like this on a public forum can come back to bite you.

Man, that sucks, sorry to hear about your 8 dude.

Skinless, it sounds like his exhaust was legitimately bent and it's not at all uncommon for people to look into replacing stock parts with 3rd party parts around an accident. I know at least 1 person who, after a fender bender that crumpled his hood and bumper, got his insurance to cover most of the cost of a CF hood.

I was just joking about having that guy pay for my mods. I just bought the K&N intake and the Agency Power exhaust for $915 from Fluid motorsports. Great deal and hassle-free.

I just want my car back to the way it was with all genuine mazda parts, painted and looking sharp again. Most of you guys know my attention to detail on the 8 and it is a prized possession for me out here in WA...no family and close friends. So I spend my time making sure she is always clean and not a scratch on her pretty sweet ***.
