I need help!!!!!!

I'm not sure what to do as this is the 6th time my 8 has been in the shop. I bought my 8 in Nov of 07 since then I have driven a total of 4500 miles ( I didnt park it for the winter) I have done all the recalls and even had my engine replaced at the end of June. 800 miles later on my way back from Portland I had a major loss of power, belts started squealing , and it started to spit and sputter . As I limped it into my local dealer they thought I was playing a joke on them and they could not believe I was having problems again. After I dragged one of them outside to listen to the poor car they believed me and promptly put it in line to be looked at on Monday morning also telling me that my CERTIFIED USED CAR warranty has experied after 2k miles ...lol no worries I have a extended warranty also plus the new 100k mile warranty from Mazda so I thought!!!!!!!!! quote from dealer " you may not have a rental vehicle because your warranty is expired and I'm going to give you a quote on Monday to fix your car" ......WTF My reply if its not covered under warranty what good was buying a certified car + the extended warranty? No reply from dealer.......

So my question is what should I do if the warranties do not cover repairs on what seems to be a LEMON.......

As u can tell I'm venting but any advice would help.

Not sure what the Lemon Laws state. Review your warranty and certified used car paperwork to be certain this is covered (should be, but one never knows when dealing with 3rd party warranties).

If you believe you're still covered, it's time to do three things. 1, find a lawyer. 2, find a different Mazda Dealer, or even an independent shop. 3, contact Mazda North America.

From what little info I have to go on, it sounds like a seized water pump, which is VERY bad but probably not covered in the 100,000 mi engine core warranty extension. In fact, depending on your 3rd party warranty, it may not even be covered by that.

If you're lucky, however, it's a seized alternator. That would explain a loss of power (running on battery, and battery gets drained so you don't get a strong, consistent spark. It would also be a lot less detrimental to the engine than a bad water pump (water pump probably means cooked engine, but not necessarily).

In any case, if the dealer was difficult to convince that they needed to look at your car, they're the wrong dealership to work with.

What other issues did you have the car in for that has kept your mileage so low?

Lemon Laws vary from state to state. For instance, California does not have a LL on used cars. Take all your paperwork to the salesman/sales manager who sold you the car and get them involved. Your best bet is to work with dealership who sold you the car. Ask to tt the general manager and tell him you will be taking this up with Mazda corporate if you don't get satisfaction. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.....

My 8 is an 04 touring package 6spd it had 48k when I drove it off the lot in Nov of 07 now it has 52,300. By the time I had clocked the first 1k miles on it I had to take it to the shop for what seemed to be electrical problems, Lights would not flash when the alarm was armed and the horn wouldn't honk. They said there was nothing wrong with my car and it was ready to pick up , so I go to get it it will not start in the parking lot like no power , dead battery ( battery was fine) they keep it I go home. They still cant find whats wrong with car it gets a jump start and everything is fine....lol shortly after this event the recall comes out for re flashing I take it in they say they fixed it but still having issues finally I parked the car while moving family from California about 2 weeks I cant wait to drive my 8 after driving a family sedan ....lol So when I get in my car the engine light comes on before I travel 1 mile..... Take it to shop recall is issued for new engine 3 weeks later I pick my car up and go around the block to see a rust color water fall from under my dash. Now I'm upset and one of the mechanics wants to be a smart *** so I lose it. After keeping my car for 2 days they tell me it was water from the car wash yeah you read that right so I ask how does water from the car wash get inside my car? (I have had the car back for 10 min by the way). I cant explain the frustration at this point..... I just get in my car and leave. I assume that the water was from a poor mechanic that disconnected my heater core and drained the lines in my dash. In the month of July I drove to Portland it was the break in period on new engine (389 miles round trip) after that I parked the car took family on vacation and have been driving the company truck until this trip to Portland on my way back almost to The Dallas is when I noticed a lack of power and my belts squealing so I babied it the rest of the way back to Yakima and barley made it to the Mazda shop before 5.

I would also like to say I never received any paper work on this new engine and was also wondering if the dealer will supply me with all the shop records for each time I have taken the car in?

Yeah I would definitely call Mazda North America and talk to them about how the dealer has treated you. I would focus on the screw ups and they way they treat you as the issue (which it is). They should be an advocate for you with the dealer and telling them to straighten up their attitude and appologize to you. Also hit them up on the "certified" used car warranty. If it's truly a certified Mazda used car they should back you up on honoring it. Especially since it's been less than 1 year.

It sounds like alternator issues. Although I haven't heard many folks talk about alternators going.

Whatever happens I would find a new dealer after this fiasco is over. They are not treating you properly and clearly are not qualified to change your oil.
