If my days off fall in the mix I would love to join you two and show what a waste of money you two have spent and show you what a stock-er can do.
If Mazda would have wanted a TC or a SC they would have put one in there![Wink](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
btw ORP looks incredibly fun. Are there gas services in the area?

Yeah that would awesome! ORP looks like a blast. I believe there are plans to get a gas station out there but the last I heard a few months ago it has not happened. If we go there then I will bring fuel with me. It is a tighter track and should be perfect for the 8.

I've only driven with ProFormance at PR and I believe they are also covering ORP now too. Would I be able to drive at PIR without doing an HPDE day? Would I be able to just hire an instructor to become familiar with the track and drive?
I am hoping to be able to join you and Dondo at the Dyno day, if not I'll definately see you at Dick's

Not sure about just getting an instructor and running at PIR. I have only done HPDE with Cascasde Sports Car Club. I believe it is $170 to run HPDE and $200 to run HPDE with instructor for all 4 20 minute sessions. You will have an instructor with you for the 1st session regardless. If they determine they need to ride with you for the other sessions then you will owe them $30. If you have enough recent track experience then you do not have to do their classroom the night before.

I think I'll have enough track time to be able to skip the HPDE.
For about $100 more ProFormance at PR will give you about 8 25-30 min sessions on a full track day, or about 3.5 hours on an HPDE day (assuming you're not driving as a student.) On their school day you get to drive from 12:30-1:30, then from 2:30-5:00.

There are two groups on a full lapping day, so you are on the track every half hour from either 8 or 9, I can't remember, until 5. Sometimes they do a turn study where you get to walk a particular part of the track with an instructor, which I have found very useful. That can take up a session, but sometimes, the last hour of the day is a combined session giving you a full hour on the track.
During an HPDE day, the students go to lunch and the afternoon lappers drive from 12:30 - 1:30 and then they come off the track for the student's first session, and then both students and afternoon lappers are on the track from 2:30 - 5:00. The students will drive two or three more sessions, and the afternoon lappers get the track for the entire 2.5 hours, which gives you a lot of track time. You choose how long a session you want. The student traffic can be slow at times, but it also gives you time to regroup and look at the track at a slower pace. In between groups the track is clear of students for about 10-15 minutes. There are four let by zones, so unless you get stuck behind a train, the students don't slow you up too bad.

well looks like you guys might be going to NW-built without me :'(... today as been absolutely horrible... got the springs in and put them in, then when we lowered the car down and was getting ready to throw it on the allignment rack it wouldnt start... we tried everything, did every method i could find to deflood the engine pulled and cleaned all of the plugs, still wouldnt fire, went and got new plugs wouldnt start. i know the engine is getting fuel and spark, checked all of the fuses, and they were all fine, everyone at work had their head under the hood at some point today and after 3 hours of trying to get it to fire i gave up and am calling mazda in the morning, glad i have the car under warranty! i did notice that the oil was SUPER milky!!! so idk whats wrong, im gonna try and start it in the morning when i get there but if it doesnt start looks like im SOL... hopefully everything works out.
and if anyone has any advice on anything to try i am more than open to some oppinions...

The milky oil you see is normal so do not worry about that. Your car is a 2004? Any idea if you have the new starter? How is the battery? I assumed you pulled into a bay at work and put the car on a lift. Did you let the car warm up before shutting it off? Or at least rev it to 3.5K for a few seconds before shutting it off? You said you swapped the plugs. You bought leading and trailing plugs for the RX8? How did you plug wires look?

yes, it cranks but no start. i let it warm up for about 3 minutes before i pulled it into a bay, i change all 4 plugs, wires looked fine.... did every deflood technique i could find. tried push starting it with no results.idk about the starter yes its an 04. its sitting at mazda of olympia now. glad i bought the warranty when i got the car. btw the guys at the mazda service dept are a bunch of dbags, atleast the older ones. talked to a younger guy first and he was cool but the older guys blow!
and i know milky oil is normal, but this was more than normal. instead of it being coffee and cream it was solid cream. ive seam it creamy before but not like this, and my radiator resovoir was bone dry... we shall see what they find, if it is a blown apex seal like i think it is then who knows when i will see my baby again, but for the time being im driving a chevy cobalt :'(
