I'll definately bring my grill, and probably a pasta salad (or something of that nature). I like to cook, so don't worry about it being some lame supermarket job.

Here's a map I marked up for a Kitsap Run a few years ago with my Miata and Probe/MX6 buddies. It's close to the map Kristopher has made - but for me, this is easier to read; Perhaps people could print this out (I think it prints at 8" wide) and at least have very clear major roads marked. I can't vouch for the accuracy; not 100%.
If you take these routes, Keep in mind - GRAVEL. Don't be behind a guy/gal w/ sticky tires; on a couple portions...back when I last ran the area anyway.

:D and I was taking it pretty easy on both those runs (admittedly easier on the Whidbey run than Auburn, but still). Get me on a road I know and you'll understand why my tires look as ratty as they do after 7 or 8 months.
Too bad you guys can't make it. This was setup as a more south-endish event with you in mind. I guess its not a long enough commute for ya
BTW, they've repaved Mt Baker Hwy. I was just up there Sunday with my folks in their Escape. What used to be a great road with terrible pavement is now an awesome road with kick@$$ pavement. Smooth, no more 10 degree off camber turns. Truly Beautiful.

Ryan and Volney, do you go to Tacoma via 167 or go out to I-5? I'm thinking it might save us time to meet somewhere closer to the hwy to caravan down to Tacoma. If it's 167, we could meet at the Cinemas down the hill from Valley hospital and it's a quick jump back onto 167, or it's also a pretty quick to jump onto 405 going west to I-5 from there. I'm hoping one of you knows how to get to Krispee Creme and I'll follow!

if your coming from seattle, take 38th st exit; the first one, on the first light you have to turn rigth to be on 38th st, next light turn left, i think its steel st, if you go straight you will see the tacoma mall, at the end of the st, you end up in the tacoma mall parking lot, turn left and go under a little part of the mall on the other side you will see the krispe screem.
if you past 38th st the next st is 56th st, take the first exit and in the light turn right ( you are on tacoma mall blvd) the next light is 48th st, keep goung straight and you will see the tacoma mall on the left and krispe screem its a 1/4 mile down on the left, its the first building you will see next to the road after 48th st.

Ryan, Thx for the pix! I put a hold on my calendar for Sunday, August 27th. Let's see what the others say
Maybe this could be a belated wedding "reception" run for the NW 8 gang to help you guys celebrate your wedding (hey everyone - it's in 3 weeks!!)...
Imagine the wedding gifts.... extra set of rims for winter, tires, whatever ... LOL

Another damn near perfect day. For those who couldn't make it, you missed some seriously sick twisties and pretty decent pavement.
27 August looks good to me. Time for another thread, I guess.
