K&N Typhoon 2
Welp, Took it off, after not that long, actually didnt have any problems with it that anyone mentioned, I think the heatshield they added to the typhoon helps a bit, the sound was cool at first, then sounded kinda like a honda to me, so on with the factory intake. Now Im back to silent runnings. Time to find a K&N drop in.
Now what to do with the Typhoon II lol, with as much bad press it gets, im not sure anyone would buy it, but I guess I could try.

I don't know why everyone hates on this intake. I have had it for 2+ years with no problem. It's not over powering as far as sound until you really get on the throttle. Add the Revi Duct and there are no issues with the intake sucking hot air. I choose the Typhoon because I am not willing to crack my fiberglass bumper while trying to remove it to clean a stupid AEM air filter. Just my opinion. Good price someone buy it!

Its cause even w/the air duct it may lose power and wont make as much as a CAI.
Find out in next months issue of *STREET TUNER!* where i, the writer, will dyno my rx8 w/ aem cai! woot woot

I don't necessarely agree. Maybe at a stand still you are going to pull hot air. But who cares your at a stand still. Once you start moving that duct pulls plenty of cold air forcing the hot air from the intake area. I think I'm going to have to place a digital thermometer in this area so I can monitor the temperature change from a stand still through acceleration. I stand behind my setup because I am against having to remove a bumper to clean a filter. Thats just retarded. I can clean mine in about 2 minutes as opposed to 1/2 hour minimum with the AEM setup. As the saying goes to each their own.
