May TWR Drive - Tomorrow
Last Minute No Name Drive
http://www.the-winding-road.com/modu...ent.php?eid=21
I had planned on Skipping may because it was simply too busy, but I just got a call from shaunv74 (and a couple e-mails from others). Apparently there's a whole group of folks itching for a run tomorrow, so I'm pulling out a good one from last summer. Sorry, no nifty name, no creative write up. If you're in, meet us at Marymoor park in the lot near the East entrance (near the softball fields, not the baseball fields). For everyone as directionally challenged as I, enter the park near the Hwy, and drive to the other end.
Meeting at 10am, rolling at 11, I've got the route in my head, and the rest we'll figure out as we go. In fact, as I'm typing, I just thought up a great place for lunch.
Snoqualmie, Skykomish, and Snohomish Valleys.
We'll settle the details in the morning.
I know it's last minute. but your invited as usual.

I'm a maybe. I dunno, I have so much to do tomorrow but it would be nice to get out there and take some twisties.

Marymoor Park is almost at the end of 520. I don't know the address (it's 2 blocks from my Apt). Just take 520 East and look for the W Lake Sammamish Pkwy Exit. At the end of the exit turn right, then left at the park entrance. If you find yourself driving by the ball fields and you're still on Hwy, call me. 206.227.7291

Aaaarghhhhhh... I'm already committed elsewhere. Have fun you guys!
Good news though... Just came from a party with my friends with the Ferrari 360. Darrin wants the dates for our next couple of drives so he can get them on his calendar soon and at least make one of them. Kristopher, I'll check TWR and see if you've got the dates picked out yet for June and July.
Oh hey... Maybe I can meet you guys by lunchtime. If you know where you're going to be, post the place and what time you think you might get there.

It was a great day yesterday, out playing with a couple other RX-8's, a Mazda 3, WRX, and Corvette.
Any how, pics are posted. http://www.the-winding-road.com/modu...p?num=10&cid=9
And again, sorry for the very late notice. I gave everyone just about as much notice as I had.

Nice pics! Sorry I missed it. Was at a reunion lunch and it lasted longer than I thought - I was planning to catch up with you at lunch. Oh well. Interesting color combination this time - 3 silver, 2 red and a yellow.

BTW, Linda, yes, I have dates picked. June 24th and July 29th. The June one is posted, and I'm busily filling in the details, but I think I may need the directions from you for the first part.

Details:
Meet at the Shell Station at exit 221 off I-5 (Google also shows as Cedardale and WA-534)
Cross over I-5 - Right on Fir Island Rd (into small town of Conway)
Fir Island Rd turns into Best Rd
Left on Chilberg Rd (toward La Conner - there are 2 90-degree turns before La Conner Hopefully no other cars or farm equipment)
Right at the turnabout onto La Conner-Whitney Rd
Left onto WA-20 (west going to Anacortes)
Left onto WA-20 (south to Deception Pass/Oak Harbor)
Pull off the road just before Deception Pass for photo op!!
Decision -- Stop for lunch at Deception Pass State Park (http://www.parks.wa.gov/parkpage.asp...ception%20Pass)
or continue on to Oak Harbor Beach Park where we stopped last year (http://www.oakharbor.org/pages.cfm?id=13&pid=57)
Deception Pass State Park sounds cool and you can reserve tables/shelters. It's just a mile after the bridge on the right. Anyone been there?

Thanks, the only notes I found for that part of the journey really weren't much help.
Having that Outdoor kitchen on the last drive worked out really well. I'll make the call later today and see about a reservation at Deception Pass. That may make it easier to stay off Hwy 20 North of Oak Harbor.
