I'm not sure why it's taking so long. I turned in my mangled plate on March 16 and had my new title (apparently you get one each time they issue a new plate, even if it is a replacement of the same thing) the next week. They said four to six weeks for the new plates to come (so I'll have a spare this time, LOL) so they should be here any time now.

My mom told me I needed to make a tail for it, too. So, her thought was to get some fur felt or some other fur, cut two circles, sew them together most of the way around, stuff it, and then attach some sort of loop with Velcro so I can hang it from my spoiler. I haven't looked into doing it yet. Maybe I'll go to the fabric after I get paid next week to see about doing it.

Well, I'm driving up Sunday morning to visit with jisoo26 and go shoe shopping. LOL I have no idea where you are compared to him, though.
That must have been one awfully big project with all that stuffing!!!!

As far as all the stuffing.... I use it to make stuffed animals at Christmas time to donate to kids. I can spare a bag or two or three though!!
Just let me know about Sunday - I'm pretty open right now. Just tell me where and when and I'll show up with stuffing

Yeah I think you mentioned your daughter lives somewhere around the Crossroads Mall area right? I literally live right across the street from there.
Won't be there for much longer though, my buy offer on a condo just got accepted today. I'm buying my first home! *w00t* But I'll still be in Bellevue, just closer to Lake Washington And I'll have a garage now, no more uncovered parking under pine trees

Works for me. =) My intention is to leave my house by 8 a.m. to get there. Last time I drove up there to visit it took me 3-1/2 to 4 hours, but that also included sitting at a dead stop on I-5 for about 45 minutes because some trailer lost its load of porta-potties in the road. In a stange bit of irony, that was the second time that I have had to wait in traffic because porta-potties fell off a truck.
That's cool about the stuffed animals. Over five years ago I had acquired a bag of stuffing at a garage sale for 10 cents and was intending to make a little stuffed animal to give to my nephew when he was born. I just couldn't manage to feel ambitious enough to start on it, though. LOL My mom ended up donating my stuffing to goodwill because we didn't really have any use for it at that time and it was taking up precious space to stash other sewing supplies.
In more good news, Robbie finished replacing a board on my sewing machine that went bad and I picked it up today. Now I can actually see the screen and everything on my sewing machine. All the lights work again. Yay!!!!

Hmmmm... the symbolism of porta-potties....
Sounds like you'll be all set up to sew the tail now. I'm thinking that since I sent the "costume" to you without a tail, it would only be right if I at least buy the supplies to make one. Do you have a fabric in mind for the tail? There's a fabric store about 5 minutes away from me. I could pick some up and then meet you guys for lunch and give you the supplies. Whaddya think?

You don't have to buy me fabric, but I was thinking of some kind of a basic white faux fur, like they use to make kids' Halloween costumes with. Don't know what they call that exactly, though (costume fur perhaps?). I just know it's generally polyester and it's washable.
In Portland we have Fabric Depot (conveniently located right next door to the Mazda dealership I go to ) that has tons of different types of fur.

See?? I do exist! I'm not a figment of anyone's imagination lol
Apparently the condo will be a 10-15 min walk to Lake Washington. After I move in I'll do some exploring around that nature area and see exactly how to get to the beaches.
Also thinking about replacing the carpet with hardwood or some pergo before I get in there...hmm.

Wow, you're closer to the lake than I thought. Good walking/biking trails over there. I think the closest beach though is Enatai (sp?).
You gonna do the floor yourself?

Not sure which beach is closest, I don't really know that area very well. I'll find out soon though.
I thought about doing the floor myself, I'm pretty good with my hands but I've never done that before so we'll see. Depends on how much the estimates are.

I have done real hardwood flooring. If you're serious about doing it you will save a TON of money doing it yourself. I spent a grand total of $705 on materials to do my kitchen floor in 3 1/2" x 3/4" T&G maple. My kitchen is ~120sqft.
After the floor was down I rented a sander from Home Depot for a day (less than $50) to get it ready to finish. Finishing it is just time consuming as you need to put down several coats; I believe I did 5 in mine.
At minimum you will need the following tools to do it right:
air compressor
finishing nail gun
soft rubber mallet
chop saw with a sharp, high tooth count finishing blade
table saw with a sharp, high tooth count finishing blade
finishing hammer (no waffle head framers)
nail set
Depending on what your schedule/timeframe is like I could help you do it.

LOL! Coming soon. I cut out the circles, but that's as far as I got. I was going to sew it on the Fourth, but didn't get around to it. I Zaino-ed the CX-7 for my mom's birthday present, got a horrible sunburn, and felt sick the rest of the day. Actually still feel kinda crappy. I'll be getting it finished soon, though.
