Next Drive 19 Mar
Whibey Island tour. This one comes straight out of the Destination Highways book. It'll require lots of road changes, so I'll make copies of the map and directions. Also, remember your two-way radios. I think the bes rally point would be the parking lot next to Deception Pass.

I love deception pass! The view is incredible! And of course, that weekend is my reserve weekend...so even if the doc says I can drive, I'll be working....AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
I'm just dying to have fun with my car...I can tell it's mad at me for just making it sit in the driveway not getting driven.

I'm trying to keep my schedule booked, so I'll be posting up drives on a regular basis. N Cascades just opened this morning, so that's going on the list soon. I've plenty of material to be scheduling a drive a weekend. That may get a little expensive, but that's what I'm shooting for.

Im in Kris. I'll bring my radio I use for snowboarding. What time for the meet up?
Im coming from Sammamish, you want to meet in Redmond so I can follow you? Im not too familiar with that area.

I kind of think we could invite one or the other, but not both. We don't want to many pistons hanging out. Actually, I've been wanting to play with both, but no body I've met on the roads has been up for it. So, please come.

Damn it, where'd my post go?
Yes, Saturday, the 19th at 11:00 in the parking lot on the island side of Deception Pass. I've not been up there i years, so someone more familiar with the area should chime in. For those down this way, we could meet up somewhere near by around 09:30. There are lots of big empty parking lots on saturday mornings.

Maps, I've got maps
Allright. I tried to break the file up into pieces, but a 200K limit for PDF's is too small even if I were to do seperate pages. So instead, I'm going to post the map at my msn communities site and link to it I'll have it up in a just a little bit. It's a bit of a complicated drive, so I suggest you pring a copy. Also, if you can wrangle up a navigator, it's probably a good idea for this one. The middle part of the drive has around 30 road changes in 40 miles. Things are especially complex around Penn Cove. Also, remember your two-way radios. I'm hoping to have a navigator myself tomorrow.
