Northwest Color Observations

I was concerned a few days ago by a "what color did you get" poll in the General forum when I saw the plethora of Titanium Gray Metallics -- of course, that also means that there are many others that agree with my opinion that its the best color available. But it means that there are many more of the color I'm getting.

But I noticed on one of the threads that we in the northwest (SW B.C.) are getting more of a variety:

Me: GT Tit. Gray w/ Black+Tan interior
Crazifuzzy: GT Black w/Black+Red
Zoom44: Silver w/ cloth
3Rotor: Red w/Black+Red

Anyone up here getting yellow or blue?

I'd take that X-men blue if we could get it..

yeah i like that "mutant blue" too. i was along time ago thinking of getting yellow. if i could afford the gt package i might have gone with the nordic green/ chapparal as i'v been fond of jags with the british racing green w/ tan interiors. when i saw the first pics of titanium i almost went for that color but as i thought it might be a bit too dark for our grey winters and the wife had her heart set on silver, i went with silver. personally i think the car looks fantastic in all the available colors:D

I too find that all the colors look awesome. However, my least favorite is the silver, simply because the door lines show up most on it. The lines of the doors are rather contradictory to the lines of the car, so i think it detracts a little from the overall appearance. I actually really want to get either the Green, or the Yellow, but, I too must yield to the wife... she want's black... which don't get me wrong, it will look DAMN sharp... just means I'm going to be washing the thing every other day.....

Good to hear from you guys and see that the NW group is growing. I guess I am the only one in the "Mid-life crisis" mode of color selection:D Actually, when I showed my wife the colors from the Detroit Launch color board, she said "Oh, that red color is nice." My immediate response was "Well, yes it is." We haven't discussed it since, she'll just have to wait to see it when it arrives:p

Around the Pacific NorthWest, when it drizzles every day for weeks, all the cars start building up this grayish haze. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. (Well, all except those who obsessively washes the car every time Mr. Sunshine makes a brief cameo.)

So which color would hide this haze better - Silver or Titanium?

:D

I went with the blue. Red was tempting, but I'm coming off of 2 red cars in a row and it was time for a change.

I'm a little concerned that the blue is going to be too light; it's really hard to tell on the websites. We'll have to see once it shows up.

I went w/ Titanium.
Cuz black - frequent car wash. Yellow and Red - too sharp and eye catching, especially to the police. Green - not favorite color. Silver - driving a silver one now, wanna change a different color. Blue - 2nd favorite.

Cool Thoughts on color.......

If you live in the grey gloomy hazey Pacific Northwest -
are you sure you want to be exactly the same color as the haze?
i.e. invisible?
Just a thought.........

exactly why i chose the silver over titanium. the titanium would be just to gloomy during the rainy times. just my opinion of course.

Red. It's not a sports car if it's not red.

Okay, maybe it is. No, probably not. Ehhh. to each his own, if you must.

Having ordered my RX-8 off the internet before it was out, I gambled that the blue wasn't quite the sky-blue I was seeing in the pictures. I love the way it came out; it sparkles in the sunlight and really sticks out on those gloomy days.

Unhappy

For me there was never a question of what color to pick: Velocity Red Mica. Some cars don't look good in red but the RX-8 in red is a real head turner. Sometime I just go out to the garage and look at it and it makes me smile, though lately, not so much.

A little woman driving a great big F350, dual cab, 4 wheel drive pickup truck pranged my 8 while pulling out of her parking space. It'll be in the shop this Monday and I hope they can make it look as good as new.

Cool

I have a Yellow RX8 and everywhere I go, I'm giving people whiplashes as it is a true head turner. I'm in the Salem area and there aren't too many yellow ones.

Also Inconsequential in Vancouver, BC has the mutant blue and kristopher d has a read. The Ti grey is my favorite but all things be told I wanted the red leather interior. I just didn't want to wait an extra 3 months to get it.
