Unhappy Not My Day

So I was driving my nieces to school this morning. I have three routes at my disposal when I drive them to school. Routes one and two usually has the morning traffic backed up but it's the shortest of the three. Route three is a bit longer but at least there's no traffic. I usually take route three most of the time. But this morning I took a gamble and decided to run route one and prayed traffic wasn't bad in there. Well I should've known my prayers never get answered and traffic was bad. So I thought, "hey, maybe route two won't be bad." And yet again, I was wrong by the time I got into my route two. Cussing to myself silently, I decided to make a U-turn and drive back to take route three. It was a two lane road and the traffic on my right side was blocking my view a bit. Plus the fact that the section of road I was in was sloped. So I couldn't really tell if there was a vehicle coming in from the opposite side. Well I checked and I didn't see any cars coming. So I was set in completing my U-turn. When all of a sudden a Honda Accord came accross me. By the time I reacted to hit my brakes, I already clipped my front to her side of the car. With the roads a bit slippery from the cold, she hit her brakes but still fell to the ditch on the side. Long story short, no one was hurt. The other driver was very cool and polite even. I'm just bum to start out the week with this happening.

At least no one was hurt. Mondays are lousy, this is obvious proof!

Thank goodness everyone is OK. And the damage to your 8 doesn't really look too bad. Hopefully it's just the bumper cover, and nothing structural.

I brought my 8 yesterday to Exotic Motors Collision at Bellevue since they work directly with my insurance company, AllState. After their inspection it looks like my car did not suffer any major structural damage. Even my left headlight was untouched. My left fog light though wasn't working and I'll also be needing a new left signal light. Besides that, the car just needs a new front assembly (bumper). Basically the damage I have on my car is mostly aesthetic. They've already ordered all the parts this morning but they won't be able to work on my 8 until the middle of February since they're a bit backed up. So for now I'll be driving my wife's Volvo .

Anyone hear anything good (or even bad) about Exotic Motors Collision. I usually have our vehicles fixed at RnR Bellevue but they're really expensive. I mean I know it's all paid by insurance, but still.

I gave the other driver in the accident a call and asked her if everything was okay. I also told her that my insurance will be taking care of her damages in her car. She was doing fine and told me that my insurance company has already gotten in touch with her to accommodate the damages. She was very thankful. I'm just glad no one got hurt. Cars can be replaced, but people aren't. I know my premium is going to go up, but hey, accidents happen. I'd rather have my insurance premium go up compared to having some one getting seriously hurt in an accident.
