A blonde walks into a bank in New York City and asks for the loan officer. She says she’s going to Europe on business for two weeks and needs to borrow $5,000. The bank officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the blonde hands over the keys to a new Rolls Royce. The car is parked on the street in front of the bank; she has the title, and everything checks out. The bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan. The bank’s president and its officers all enjoy a good laugh at the blonde for using a $250,000 Rolls as collateral against a $5,000 loan. An employee of the bank then drives the Rolls into the bank’s underground garage and parks it there.
Two weeks later, the blonde returns and repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $15.41. The loan officer says,
“Miss, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely; but we are a little puzzled. We checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is - why would you bother to borrow $5,000?”
The blond replies…..”Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $15.41 and expect it to be there when I return?”

I know its dirty
Soon ill get a hair up my *** and clean stuff, but im in destruction stage so it will all become dirty again anyways...
Heres my practice brace. I will redo this when I get a new stainless turbo flange. This flange was the one from the GN the turbo used to be mated on...before the car fire. My tig welding skills suck pretty hard. Just need to practice more. I will end up having to use a pump cause theres not really enough angle for oil drain back to the pan.

I think your confusing a Wastegate with the Blow off valve.
A wastegate is set to the peak PSI the turbo will build for the preset PSI limit. Either/both by spring tension and or by boost controller.
A Blow Off Valve relieves the turbo PSI/boost when you are boosting and close the throttle body by lifting the accelerator pedal and closing the throttle body butterfly. You have boost with now where to go so it (BOV) vents to atmosphere or recirculates it back into the charge pipe/intake before the TB..

good example of this would be a ported throttle body, nothing to really be gained until it becomes the restriction

It really has nothing to do with any HP gains. It has to do with relieving boost pressure before it pushes back on the spinning turbine and slows it down when the throttle is shut. That way the turbo can maintain an even boost pressure without having to lose pressure and build it back up.

i talked to some guys that ran no bov on their mr2s. just blocked off and they said theres really not enough pressure to hurt the turbo or tb. i dont know all that much about it but one of the guys i talked to owns/runs a mr2 performance shop. the welded block off plate had surge written on it in sharpie. idk if it was a joke tho

The point is that blow off valves don't make your car faster by giving you more power, but by keeping the boost at its peek.
