Very minimal, mostly just routine maintenance. Oil has been changed every 3-5k miles with Castrol GTX 5w-20, oil filters are always Mazda OEM or Wix. Transmission fluid and diff fluid were changed with 75w-90 Royal Purple gear oil at 47k miles. Otherwise original transmission, original clutch, even original tyres! No modifications on the car other than oil pressure gauge.
Some more diagnostic information: No error codes, no CEL, slight loss of power and slight hesitation on warm starts but only by comparison with how the car was at 40k miles. On cold start the car will feel like its misfiring, infrequent, usually only between 1-3k RPM under load (5th gear uphill).
Also rattling noise from engine compartment when under light throttle. It is not the "ball bearings in can" noise associated with coolant flow through the heater core at high RPMs. Someone told me it could be a bad motor mount that is causing the engine/transmission housing to vibrate against a support? In addition, I've noticed a slight increase in engine noise, possible exhaust leak near the catalytic converter?
I don't feel the clutch slip ever and other than the warning lights for low coolant (bad sensor) and low brake fluid level (needs new pads soon) I have no other diagnostic information to go on.
If you have the compression tester, and don't mind helping me use it I'd be more than glad to pay you back for your time. Right now though I have a few projects to finish for school and work before I can take a look at the car properly. I will probably get to it this Friday, but I just wanted to see if anyone could give me some advice :P
Thanks as always!

Royal Purple gear oil is a known problem in this transmission. For whatever reason it seems to make the syncro's grind...so I would swap it out for Redline or another synthetic like Motul and see if your gear noise goes away. Personally I would swap it out of the diff as well...but that is just me

Let me know if you want to try and figure something out for the test...maybe we could talk Dondo into using his shop sometime in the next while. I'm down for a track day on the 23rd of November unless it snows or is raining cats and dogs

Hey guys my daily driver hyundai scoop turbo 93 has been giving me starting and stumbling issues again. I bought the car 8 years ago and it it had a 110000 miles, and I did the normal tune-ups (spark plugs, oil filter, oil change, etc) a couple moths later it started stumbling, so I changed the spark plug wired the rotor and the rotor cap and it fixed the problem. The car does consume oil. Right now it's doing about 1 quart a month, even tho I don't drive that far since I live close to work, about 1 mile. One year later, it start to do it again, so I change the spark plug again. Did not use the car for almost one year, but I did start the car and go to the store to keep the battery in good condition, last year I started to use the car as my daily driver and in the summer I had to change the spark plugs again because it started stumbling again, last week the car was giving me a hard time starting I did find that one of the spark plug wires was corroded with white powder also the distributor cap was corroded. So since its been 8 years and I have a 120000 miles now I went ahead and changed the wires, the rotor cap and rotor again and it seems to be running fine. Yesterday the car was stumbling again so I went ahead and changed the spark plugs again and the car is running perfect again, now the coil is still the factory one. My question is do you guys think that a weak coil is ruining my spark plugs or that the oil burning is making my spark plug go bad!
I figure I am going to change the coil next since it is cheap only $60, but I am curies to know why I am going try so many spark plugs so quickly?
So any feedback will be nice for a learning experience

Mr. Örange
Sometimes we complain about too many laws and the nanny state, but othertimes, it's nice that we have better driver training, and we obey our laws to a different degree haha

Ive been trying to pick through what FD stuff im going to end up selling. I need to get rid of my OEM RX8 leather seats (Front/Rear). They are taking up a lot of space in my closet. Selling them in the for sale section might be aids due to shipping both heavy seats.
