Hey Boys and Girls!
RX's aren't easy cars and every owner knows it! I wanted to share a lil experience I had a month ago. I live in West of England and since last yr 2012 about 2 months after I got my 2005 Black 193 1.3 Although the coulant tank is slightly over the manufacture recommended limit, the coolant light will pop when I am doing some spirited driving (as we do on the motorway...70mph) this light was so annoying that It was driving me nut so I had enough and went to the dealer. they told me the sensor went and I can only replace the all bottle which dear enough cost around 300GBR with labour i though. so I couldn't afford it and as I was going to the car a guy approach me and told me he had similar issue so told me what to do which am gonna explain. Basically DONNOT put blue dialuting coolant in your RX8 trust me even if you have no problem now you will have it in the future if you do. my car had a blue coolant and I guess thats why I was having issues. blue coolant is very heavy and its leaves dirts on the sensor causing the sensor to malfunction. you either clean it by removing the bottle and give it a good wash or do it the easier way. just suck out all coolant out the bottle by either using a tube or something to suck it all out. you then dont need to remove the bottle. then wait about 5min before filling the new cooland (red one) to the level recommended or a lil higher just to make sure. Then give it a lil time to relax then Boom! go for a lil drive and see the difference. its been now around 4months since I changed the coolant and no light had popped even when am driving fast. am sure this may be a lil different for you but it worked for me reason why sharing isnt a bad thing. apparently its a good thing to change coolant every other few months (or clean the bottle) your choice inmy experience I saved 300 quid and still using the same coolant sensor and bottle. Voila!

Odd place to post that but japanese manufacturers are very specific wrt the coolant used. It's a dark green and expensive. I am no expert but as I understand things, the red coolant causes clumping when mixed with other types which would stick the sensor and eventually clog the radiator. If I were in you're position, I'd flush my coolant to check.
In any case, the dealer was likely correct. The coolant sensors are known to go bad.

I do not think you have to worry about anyone wanting to take Vancouver from WA. Next time you are freezing your *** off pumping your gas then think of me chilling listening to music with my heated seats

Have not had gas spilled on my car. For the most part the attendants are really good because they can tell I take care of my car so they are careful not to scratch it or do anything stupid. Also I use the same station 99% of the time so they are familiar with me.

gee was googling some, and theres one in the supermall in auburn? seemd like it had realllly bad reviews tho.... There was one I used to go to in federal way like 10 years ago, looks like it has closed down tho.
Hey a really interesting flavor to try though is almond! doesn't sound good. but man does it taste amazing. Havnt really found very many places with it though.
