Puyallup to Vancouver and back... 350=15, RX8 = 2
Just a little factoid;
Sunday last, my wife and I decided on the spur of the moment to take the kids to Stanley Park, in Vancouver. They hadn't left the country before; and I needed to pick up more Tylenol + Codeine, as I have a trip coming up next weekend. Thus - we packed the kids and their gear in the 8 and headed due-north. If it wasn't a last minute trip I would have called Dan for sure, and maybe posted up for a chance to meet others.
Well, along the way I noticed at least 15 350Zs going one direction or another...and a whopping TWO RX8s; and not until I got to downtown Vancouver, near the Park. I think it was actually the same RX8 twice, as he drove by while me and the family were eating dinner, and later, we drove past a same colour/options etc, model parked down the block.
Here's to uniqueness!
Crossing the border to come home, we had about a 15 minute wait at the border. As I moved along-side a large CJ series Jeep, the passenger was looking out the window. When he noticed my car he smiled, and had the driver look over.
"That thing a Rotary??" he asked.
'yeah...1 point 3 litres..' I replied.
"what's the 0-60?"
'Depends on if my wife is in the car' I thought, but didnt' say, cuz she'd hit me.
"I've seen ratings around 5.7" I replied.
'NICE...Great car!' he offered...I returned the compliment as I am a big fan of 'Four-Wheelin'
Then, as I pulled up to the Border Agent he looked down and said "zoom-zoom-zoom, eh?"
I handed him my and my wife's passports, and documents for our kids, and he looked and said "I'll ask you just one question....How much did you pay for the car?"
$26K
We chatted for a second about what I do for work - he noticed my Fort Lewis tags on the windshield...then we were off.
Below are a few pics of the trip:

Car averaged 21mpg...4 more than in-town. I cruised about 74-75; mindfull to try to keep the tach needle below 3750.

Nice DNP, I love "trip reports"! I already am planning the St. Helens loop and the North Cascades loop with the family this summer.
Can't, for the life of me, figure out why our car isn't more popular, but what the hell, fine by me. BTW, the only car that I considered besides the RX-8 was the G-35. 8K more??? No thanks!

I've made the Puyallup to Vancouver trip several times...in fact I'm doing it the weekend after next. You probably drove right past my mother-in-law's place, she lives right at one of the entrances to the park, on Nelson St. Anyway, I've noticed that even though the 8 is much more limited in Canada, I see almost as many in Vancouver over a weekend, as I do in the states.
But I agree....here's to uniqueness!
