Race in March! (2010, Seattle area)
Time for real events! Rumor has it that PR is getting repaved from T1 to T3A sometime this month as well, which seems to have impacted the number of events there.
I'll try and keep up with who plans on attending what event. If it's too much of a pain in the ***, I'll stop. Regardless of if I update the Members planning on attending lists, we can use this thread to organize meeting up to go to an event etc. as well. The Tacoma Mall Krispy Kreme has worked out pretty well for Bremerton based events. Southcenter Mall would work out better for Packwood events for those going *** early. Click the location link for directions to any of the sites. For PR, click the directions link on their site (it's in Java so I can't link straight to it).
Membership Requirements:
Pre-registration varies from Event to Event. Pre-Registration is always cheaper, sometimes required, but not always available more than 2 weeks before the event. Always check the link for a given event.
Remember to Bring:

March 13th:

Membership Requirements:
- Alfa Events: No Membership Required
- BEAC Events: Must be a Boeing Employee
- BSCC Events: Must be a BSCC Member [$20 Membership]
- Porsche Pacific Northwest Events: Schools - Porsche Club Sponsor or Membership in one of the following clubs: PCA, Alfa, Audi, BMWCCA, BSCC, Corvette, Mini, Viper, or PDC club member
- Proformance Racing School: Must be a client for all non-school events, going to a school makes you a client, or be a member of the Alfa or Porsche clubs.
- NWR SCCA Events: Membership Required [$10 Weekend memberships available on site, full memberships available online for $45 or $60, up to 3 weekend memberships can count towards a full one]
- SCCA Oregon Region Events: Membership Required [$10 Weekend memberships available on site, full time memberships must be Dual Region]
- WWSCC - No Membership Required (I think)
Pre-registration varies from Event to Event. Pre-Registration is always cheaper, sometimes required, but not always available more than 2 weeks before the event. Always check the link for a given event.
Remember to Bring:
- Oil - During the lapping days you can burn as much as a quart! Autocross days are less, but it's still worth topping off at the beginning of the event
- Sunblock - Especially for the autocross events where you'll spend half the time working the course
- Water - No matter what the event, it's going to be hot in your helmet and car
- Helmet (If you have one that meets the requirements) - All clubs require a helmet, some will lend you one in exchange for your license, others will charge you money to rent one. Helmet Requirements (always double check the club's listing!):
- AutoX - Snell Approved M2000 or higher
- Lapping - Snell Approved SA2005 or higher
- Cash - At almost all Bremerton events, the local Lions Club will show up and serve cheap burgers, hot dogs and Philly Cheese Steaks but they're cash only
- Your Checkbook - All autocross events that involve timing equipment have a rule: If you car touches the timing equipment, it's a $100 fine payable on the spot. You can sometimes run and pick up money from an ATM down the street but it's easier if you have your checkbook handy.
- Don't be intimidated by this, in reality, it's very rare. The club doesn't WANT this to happen, so they setup the course to try and prevent it from happening
- Gas
- AutoX - 1/2 tank or more
- AutoX Practice - Full tank
- School - Full Tank
- Lapping - Full Tank

Well, there still aren't details on the BSCC event on the 14th... which is annoying because if my class runs in the afternoon, I'm going to be really pissed if I show up in the morning. Either way, I'm going on the 28th!

Ah, didn't update back here, but I eventually found it: http://bscc.net/index.php?option=com...&id=3&Itemid=4
Scroll down. Events 1 and 5, Street Tire runs second

If you run in the morning, you can dual register in the afternoon as time-only. So if half the classes could only ever register in the afternoon, they'd get half the runs. Instead, they flipflop every other event which is fine, I just couldn't find the starting point.
Typically the split is stock and non-stock classes.

The classing structure gets kind of wierd after Street Touring. The next level under Street Prepared is Street Mod, which only has 3 classes (SM, SM2 and SSM) while the levels below that go back to a letter based breakdown that I don't understand at all (WTF, D-Mod cars are slower than F-Mod?).
That said, I just went back and checked the dates on the doc's and the per car class listings haven't been updated since March of last year so chances are we really are CSP. Your car is perhaps underprepped for CSP, but not by much. This is a question for the likes of TeamRX8... or maybe GeorgeH will mystery lurk into this thread

Also RX8's are in BSP currently which they would get killed in. Some people have talked about trying to get them moved to DSP, which I think is the perfect place for them. But I don't know if anyone has proposed that rule change or not.

Man this has been a crazy week...
Definitely running in the morning on Sunday. Mike, I see Karl is driving your car in the afternoon? Should be very interesting to see how that goes. He was very quick in George's car and he's going to run in George's at Nationals I think.

I'm definitely expecting to be humbled just like when I sold my miata to Peter. With the rain though who knows.

I suspect it's going to be one of those "typical" Bremerton days where it's wet in the morning, drying out in time for the afternoon runs... but I won't be able to stay for those Rain or no rain though, I'm looking forward to it.
NS5 should be interesting... STU and STX alone. It's going to make it tough on these wet days. Aside from you and I, there's only 1 other 2WD car registered for NS5 and it's a Civic.

I hope you're right about the afternoon, I'm expecting rain all day though. Oh well, I need to figure out a wet setup anyways.

Man... kind of an epic day. Started with Shin failing Tech because his battery wasn't tied down (WTF?), then they had to try 3 different sets of timing lights before they could get one to work. First car didn't go on course until like 10:10, which is crazy late for SCCA. Meant we only got 3 runs
Still waiting on the official results since I had to leave right after my 3rd run, but I think I did pretty well...
Run 1 was miserable, with Traction Control on for most of the Taxiway until I finally reached down and found the button. That's why I slow way down at the end of the taxiway, lol.

Run 2 was faster but I botched that weird-*** turn-around and went the wrong way around the first cone, didn't even bother to upload it to youtube.
Run 3 was sweet. I watched Karl Koleman take the last section and saw how he was coming out wide after the next to last gate which opened up the finish sooner. That plus a much better taxiway lead to a MUCH faster time. Disclaimer: Youtube quality will suck until processing is complete.
