Breakin Oil Is Out

Managed to pull over 5-1/2 litres of breakin oil out with my pump!

a day on the engine dyno would have saved you the 850 mile wait, and our wait for the dyno sheet

Yes, that is true. I still have two items to install before I get my tune done correctly.

Ignition (ordered)
Fuel Pressure (ordering)

Another piece is a BHR resonator to finish the midpipe. I will dyno with a straight pipe if not here by then.

Nemesis/Dondo, did you guys follow Racing Beat's break in procedure? Not sure I will be able to wait for 2000 miles before going full throttle

My plan was 1k but now I'm rethinking it. Mazda says 600 miles and Racing Beat says 2000. I wonder if Racing Beat is being extra careful due to customers asking or if it is based off of research.

1300 miles then? 1000 miles as I planned sounds close enough.

1000 with new crankshaft bearings. Take your time with it. Give yourself time to make sure the car is truly sorted after such a huge job (they almost always aren't).

Sorry man

BHR Coils are to ship week of 07/07, I need to order the fuel pump, I need to order one of BHR's silencers after all the pre-orders are filled for the midpipe, and then the tune. I'll dyno the car after all that with RB's race midpipe if I don't have my midpipe built.

FWIW, even untuned the car launches nicely on the Interstate to pass

Yes, I am using their procedure. I just passed 1500 miles of breakin today - first 1,000 under 4K, the last 500 under 7K on the tach. Nothing higher on the tach yet for me.

2000 miles could take me 3 months. I was thinking of calling if good at 1000 but now you have me thinking about it again.

so you guys change the oil after the breaking? I have never heard of that before and breaking miles, I did 600 like Mazda says. yet again i never heard of flooding on a Rx car, but it could be because I leave in a tropical island (Puerto Rico).

now this is my second engine and I do not know what the original owner did with the first one. so will see what happens with this one, sense its a keeper, sense its paid off!!!
