One thing I wanted to mention, which may or may not be helpful.
I am told by people who should know that the S2000 continues to break in (and increase in power) for about 15,000 miles, so that it does not make a lot of sense to do a baseline dyno before 15,000 miles. As it happens, I just passed 15,000 miles, so it's a perfect time for me to do this with my S.
I don't know if something similar applies to the RX-8, since it has a different kind of engine, but I wanted to flag the issue. Our RX-8 has only a little over 1,000 miles on it, so I will not be doing a dyno on it for a while, at least.

Yea, I'm a fan of the S2K also. If I didn't need the back seat, I'd probably be driving one. I love my 8, but nothing beats a sweet/fast/handling convertible...eventually I may wind up in a M3 convertible :D.

Some Info:
I'm going to be using EXP4 Fuel/Oil additive for the dyno:
His reply:
Mark says if anyone wants to do back-to-back pulls, he'll donate the product free.
I'm negotiating with CarbConn about prices to re-dyno, etc...typically, it's $75 per strap-down (onto the dyno).

Mr. Rossow,
My name is Darin Pemberton, I found your product line through a link
on a discussion forum. I drive a 2004 Mazda RX8 and am interested in
trying your products in my car during a group dyno day I've organized
on 26 February (The shop, http://www.carbconn.com/, hosting the event
uses a Dynojet Dyno). Most of the information on your website talks
about the benefits of the products on 'cylinders' and 'valves', etc.
Can you provide specific/measured information or experience with the
products (fuel and oil treatments) on Rotary engines? Is the
procedure for adding the products the same (which I understand to be,
for the fuel treatment, adding the product to a near-empty gas tank,
filling up the tank, then driving around a few minutes)? If you
don't have dyno results for Rotary-Powered cars, I'd love to send you
the before and after dyno results, if you are interested.
If this email was sent to the wrong person in the company, please
forward - and accept my apology for using your time. I'm skeptical,
honestly, about 'pour-in' HP, but researching your products gives me
at least the desire to spend the money to find out
Thank you very much for your time.

I'd be happy to supply products for your dyno tests and have you share the
results.
Currently, one of your groups contacts, Robin Yang is going to be testing
the product in San. Fran.
We have a number of people driving the rotary engine have great success
though I have been waiting for e-mail results.
I am out of town this weekend and all next week so I would like to have your
requests processed ASAP.
Thanks, Mark

Would you like to try the fuel/oil addative in your S2K? I'm going to submit my request for the free product in a day or two; I for one will try it...I'm skeptical.

That said, I would be willing to test their product, but I would not be willing to pay for the privilege, meaning I would be willing to pay $75 for one dyno run without the additive; if they are willing to give me the additive, and they pay for the second run, I am willing to do it.
Otherwise, I'll be quite happy just to see what my stock S2k will do with its normal diet.

OK!
RX8 FORSURE(The Szigler8)
Maybe my Miata too but I just dyno'd it.
http://forum.miata.net/cgi-bin/ultim...=003961#000000
Side note:
Mazdaspeed shocks are dimensionally identical to the stockers which is a plus for BS autoxer's.
I am going to send them in for dyno testing and see if they are worth putting on the car.
I also am going to have a straight pipe to try out on the 8 when we put it on the dyno.
Might be a little loud....
Oh well..
CYA there.
Do you need a deposit?
FM(still got the TTRX too but sold the 99 Hayabusa).

Thanks mike - no deposit needed - I added you to the list; but I think we should cap the list now; 7 or 8 cars could turn into a fairly long day.
See you at 10!
